Suspended in France means, he will not go to jail because his sentence is less then two years. He will pay the lofty fine because of his position in the society to set more examples in discouraging others who may want to engage in such act. FFF can suspend him but unwilling to do so. Balloon 'dor , he's eligible because the voting has concluded before this report is out. He'll not go to jail but if he commits another crime before one year , he'll then go to jail.

Valbuena slept with a prostitute and taped it. However, he bought a new phone and wanted to transfer contents and gave to a friend to help him do that. His friend took the tape and contacted someone so that they could blackmail him and get some money.

They reached Djibril Cisse on WhatsApp and told him the plan but he shouted them down. Cisse approached Valbuena and told him to be careful that certain persons sent his stuff on WhatsApp.

Seeing they failed with Cisse, they solicited the help of an old friend of Benzema's who helped them connect with Karim.

During the preparations for the W/Cup, Karim spoke with Valbuena and pressured him steadily to pay the money. The said Valbuena was reluctant so he decided to enlist an intelligence officer who bugged Karim's line.

Karim reached his friend (who connected him) and in one of the conversations...Karim said "he is not taking US seriously."

He did not try to blackmail anyone. He simply encouraged his team mate to pay blackmailers to avoid release of the team mates' ''sex tape'' The team mate contacted authorities before paying. This is why they feel Benzema is invloved.
