It's called a national carrier and yet the govt has just 5% stake in it?
It's well.

The FG do not want to repeat the mistake of the defunct Nigeria Airways, where the government owned it 100%. We are all know how it ended as government officials and their cronies ran it aground.

Now, the FG wants this airline to be propelled by private investors to ensure there is no repeat of the NAL episode.

Lol
Starting has never been a problem
What about maintenance
With the ownership structure maintenance will not be an issue. It’s not a one man business. It will be better to own 5% stake in an air nigeria that (if successful) can displace an Ethiopian airlines from the Nigerian market than to own 100% of a three 22year old aircraft airline.

Experts in the aviation industry say this man is one of the best aviation Ministers Nigeria has ever had, we understand he's got very high standards and zero tolerance for mediocrity, shabbiness and incompetence. Operators in the industry fear and respect him at the same time. You dare not operate if not in conformity with set procedures and standards. We can all see this in the safety of our airlines, the man is really trying his best and aspires to take the country to an enviable position amongst her peers in the world. More power to his and the team's elbows. We wish them all the best.
You’re right. The money bags of Aviation industry ( Allen Onyema , yunusa) they respect him because he is a high standard man. He has said it at many forums that Nigerians do not deserve the kind of service they are getting from these operators. For instance the Airpeace CEO said Sirika challenged him to invest in new aircrafts and he listened while the man helped get them waivers and concessions to encourage them. The only problem is that he is not a media / press person thus a lot of negative comments about him have been left to fly

This man just persists in flogging a dead horse! Why not make Air Peace the national carrier since it’s presently the largest airline in West Africa!? After all, we’ve seen gov’t backing and depending on a private initiative presently....Dangote! So why can’t they extend such encouragement and support to Air Peace!?
air peace has a lot of issues which are yet to be addressed although there are signs that they are being addressed. One it’s ownership structure - 100% Allen Onyema. Even dangote sold 20% stake in his refinery to make it an institutional project and to guarantee some level of government support. Secondly Airpeace started out by testing the waters . For this they used old aircrafts to enter the market and gain some market share before updating their fleet. Their fleet modernisation program started in 2019 and they’ve receive 4 or 5 modern aircrafts this year . It may take another 3-4 years for them to be able to phase off all their older aircrafts and begin to enjoy the benefits of operating a young fleet. Thirdly they do not have an MRO for their growing fleet . I hear they are working on one now though. Then they are yet to secure a technical partner which I al so believe is in works. So due to these issues and other political considerations the government may not feel the urge to adopt as a flag carrier.

Means he needs to get a good PR team.

In the music industry, Davido, Burna, Wizzy etc. have all immensely benefited from good PR and Marketing teams.

He needs to get one as well.

Sadly he doesn’t care. Most passengers only pass through the terminal buildings of the airports and they judge based on what they see. On the other hand Sirika has spent most of his time investing and upgrading safe critical systems across the airports which everyday passengers don’t see . And he never showcases these things Fx . This is why only aviation professionals hail him while the masses bash him . He doesn’t believe fancy terminal buildings are a priority in the absence of safety critical systems

I concur, but he MUST get a good PR team, most needful. He can't be doing all these fantastic jobs and there's no accolades or recognition... Nigerians need to be aware of his strides... he's a man worth celebrating.
