In the professional orientation process, the information phase acquires special importance and is favoured by the empathy between the subjects who interact in the said process of utilizing a fake degree.

Taking as a starting point the particularities of adolescents, previously raised, we can start from the idea that they seek the answer to their questions in the process of professional choice in various ways. Parents, friends, teachers, neighbours and the mass media and the Internet are influences that can intervene in professional choice. It is noteworthy that the information is very important, sometimes unspecialized or misrepresented information about a career can lead to significant misunderstandings.

Sometimes the family tries to persuade the children with information about careers that have a certain social representation, without really knowing the academic profile of the same, and if they have the characteristics and personal motivations for their choice; We have been able to appreciate that students with a good development in science subjects choose careers in which other learning predominates and this causes them frustration with the chosen career once they begin university studies. According to the ideas of González (1998) for a young man to develop effective future objectives that allow him to self-regulate his behaviour, he must have knowledge based on the needs that guide his effective mediated objectives, this potential of knowledge will enable him to reflect;

Information as one of the premises of knowledge about the profession constitutes a first link for the development of professional motivation, a type of motivation that can become a personality guiding trend where the student is able to consciously structure their purposes in relation to a certain profession. For this reason, it is recommended that the information received by young people about university careers is as close to specialized objective criteria as they can be informed about the profession and its academic characteristics; the personal characteristics that favour their performance and their social applicability, as aspects that can favour self-assessment and reflection on the professional choice.

With the general objective of describing which are the information sources used by the students of the IPVCE of the central provinces of Sancti Spíritus, Villa Clara and Cienfuegos for the entrance to Higher Education, it was used as the main method of collecting information for the study: the questionnaire, as the most convenient information collection instrument from a quantitative methodological perspective interested in explaining and identifying the agents that promote professional orientation in students. The fake university diploma amongst students is quite famous.

The students were selected through a proportional stratified random sampling, the study group comprising 180 11th grade students, of which 45% were female and 55% male.

As a result of the application, it was found through the responses that 70% of the students indicate that they are dissatisfied with the information they have on the different careers to choose from. This aspect leads us to think that the attention from the various educational institutions is insufficient in terms of preparation to implement actions that contribute to vocational guidance.

One of the questions in the questionnaire was aimed at investigating what mass media are frequently used by students, and in the responses, it was obtained that 94.4% of the students surveyed use television as a means of information and entertainment, this data is reiterated in each of the provinces; In the case of radio, 77.77% of the surveyed students use it. This induces reflection aimed at including spaces in the TV and radio programming of each province that allow comment on the different professions, as well as the elaboration of educational videos that highlight the information that allows knowing more about the different university careers.
