A Nigerian man and a Twitter user has taken to Twitter on Wednesday to lament after his cousin was allegedly beaten to death in a Lagos school, Igbere TV reports.

The 12-year-old boy died after he was allegedly beaten up in his school, Dowen college in Lekki, Lagos State.

As at the time of this report, it's unclear whether the deceased was beaten by a teacher of the college or he was beaten by his fellow student of the school however Igbere TV learnt that the boy mentioned 5 names before he passed away on Tuesday.

The man, identified as Pierre said the school is Dowen College, and it they pay the sum 1 million naira for school fee.

Dowen College was established in 1997. It was built by Dr. O.O. Phillips in 1997. The school is an independent co-educational boarding and day school that offers a broad and balanced education within a friendly, caring and happy environment. Dowen College is located at 18 Adebayo Doherty Rd, Lekki Phase I 106104, Lagos.

UPDATE: Findings revealed that the boy was allegedly beaten to death by his fellow students who failed to initiate him in cult.

“They tried to put him in cult, he refused and they killed him. Secondary school o.”

On the surface the story sounds really doubtful.
Being initiated into a cult in a private school of that calibre.
Where did the initiation take place because in boarding schools of that level the whereabouts of pupils at every turn is well regulated and monitored.
If it happened in the school it's unlikely they were not aware of such event.
For him to even lay same emphasis on the school fees of ₦1million as the loss of a soul shows where the narrator's anger is coming from.
But investigation should be done,afterall no one could have believed that the son and probably the owner himself of a private university and hotels,amongst other big establishments,can be involved in the murder of a masters degree pursuing hotel occupant,who they even denied knowledge of,till investigations proved otherwise.
Nigeria is a country of the absurd.Things you wouldn't believe logically and rationally can happen or be done by some people,happen and you begin to doubt even your own level of mental capacity.
