According to a study, food prices in Nigeria will continue to rise due to a lack of agriculture in the country.

United Capital Management’s findings show that rising food prices from September to date are an indicator of the country’s potential for next year.

The Ministry of Statistics also said that food prices have risen across the country.

September NBS data showed that prices of rice, egg, flour and tomatoes have risen sharply.

In some places about 1 rice bag of 50km is being sold at 30,000. Egg prices have also increased in some areas by about 25 percent.

In some local markets, a kilogramme of tomatoes is priced at N342, instead of N286 in last September.
