Singer Seyi Shay on Wednesday showed off a growing baby bump in a new dance video she uploaded on social media, Igbere TV reports.

The 35-year-old shared the video in an Instagram story.

The excited dancer also announced that her album will be released in two days.

“Big Girl album in 2 days…who’s excited?” she wrote.

Seyi was introduced to the late Sound Sultan during her visit to London in 2011. After listening to some of her demos, Sultan convinced her to relocate to Nigeria and pursue her musical career there.

In addition to meeting Sultan, Shay was introduced to Cecil Hammond of Fly time Promotions. Hammond signed her to his record label Fly time Music and decided to launch her solo career in Nigeria.

On February 15, 2014, She performed with Kelly Rowland, D’banj, Tiwa Savage, Mo’ Eazy, Zaina, Timi Dakolo, Waje, Muna, JJC and Eva Alordiah at Darey’s Love Like a Movie concert.

Born Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, the afropop star released her debut studio album Seyi or Shay in November 2015. Work on the album started as early as 2013. Seyi worked with several producers in Nigeria, including Jay Sleek, Tee Y Mix, Del B and Cobhams Asuquo.

In 2020, the singer announced that she broke up with her partner whom she was engaged to.

Explaining why the relationship ended in an interview with Guardian, Seyi said: “We were already arguing about the whole wedding; there is a lot of stress when you are planning a wedding and I think somewhere in that all process, our relationship started to break down. Eventually, anyway, he was cheating on me and I found out because I walked in on the situation.

“I really wish I didn’t have to. So, the reason I decided and agreed to get married to this person is that I have a certain opinion on marriage. I don’t believe in the typical generalization of marriage. I don’t believe in that whole western type of ceremony or marriage – It is much deeper than that. Marriage to me is a bit more spiritual. It is much deeper than that. There is a type of glory that marriage gives you and your relationship as a woman or man and that is beyond the contract or the things you say to each other or the number of people in the ceremony.”
