The President, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Women’s Association (AE-FUNAI WA), Dr. Chinyere Elom has organized an end of the year party for female staff of the University.

The colorful event which brought together all female staff of the University at the Needs Assessment Building on Wednesday, 8th December, 2021, was geared towards fostering the spirit of love, camaraderie, oneness and conviviality among staff, especially as the world approaches the yuletide season. It was also meant to thank God for His mercies and preservation in the year 2021.

While making her opening remarks at the event, Dr. Mrs. Elom, who also is the Acting Director, Centre for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, thanked God for protecting the women of the University against Covid-19 as no female staff was lost due to the pandemic.

She also appreciated God for the various achievements the University Management is making, adding that the prayers and supplications of members of the association, who she described as a special breed from God, went a long way in instituting the new administration.

Speaking further, the president emphasized that the executive of the association deemed it necessary to host a party to celebrate the love of God to mankind, as love conquers all, and to celebrate God’s unending mercies and faithfulness to the University throughout 2021.

She eulogized members of the association for their hard work, support and dedication to the University, describing them as women who love God and keep to his commandments, advising them to keep putting God first in everything they do, as God has never failed, and to also work hard to meet up to the expectations of the University.

Highlights of the event were prayer and praise sessions, dance, drama and presentation of award to the most dedicated female staff, Mrs. Precious Chinyere Ugwu of the Students’ Affairs Department.



While receiving the award, Mrs. Ugwu thanked the wife of the Vice-Chancellor for organizing such a beautiful event, noting that it was filled with merriment, love, laughter and sumptuous meals. She also thanked the organizers for the award, and encouraged all to work hard and to be dedicated to their work, as according to her, ‘hard work pays.’
