Europe Donated Near-expired Vaccines To Africa by Swipa: 5:41pm On Dec 11, 2021
As many as 1 million doses of AstraZeneca’s covid-19 vaccine reportedly expired before they could be used in Nigeria, a country of more than 200 million where less than 2% of the population is fully vaccinated.

According to Reuters, the doses were sent from Europe through Covax, a program to distribute covid-19 vaccines donated by rich countries to poor ones. But Nigeria didn’t have enough time to distribute the supply before much of it expired—in some cases, within four to six weeks, versus the AstraZeneca vaccine’s typical shelf life of six months—and much of the donation went to waste.

OP, please calm down.
Near expired is not same as expired. The problem only arise if it was expired or expired doses administered on folks. Trust me, they will be destroyed once they are expired. Nigerian health officials won't administer expired vaccines on the populace wink You can take that to the bank.

If so, it's their loss. No law is broken if you donate near expired medications especially to areas where it can be quickly utilized before it will all waste.

People always tends to give their worthless items out.
Even here in Nigeria, some bosses will give out items in their only stores when they are almost going bad.

Africa and Nigeria in particular should stop the beggy beggy attitude from this imperialists.

What stops them from making their own vaccines.

A country that produces doctors that half the time, are ill-trained due to lack of modern facilities. Textbook doctors.

Contrary to what you have been told, it is one of your biggest problems as a developing country. You should be thanking your stars that rich countries decided to have mercy on the poor ones if not, it will be a tsunami of catastrophe.

you just come here to regurgitate what nonsense you have been fed.
Go and check, most Africans are asymptomatic.
also, the virus doesn't thrive in this part of Africa. in the height of the pandemic and lockdown last year, what was the scores from Nigeria? beside the fabricated scores from ncdc. the only few cases were those who went outside the country.
A state , kogi, even refused to lockdown or do all those oyibo copy copy covid regulations, and nothing happened there.
my friend, covid is not Africa problem.
we have better sectors to focus on.
