In recognition of their immense contributions to excellent service delivery to the Nigerian masses, Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, the Vice-Chancellor University of Abuja, Prof. Abdul Rasheed Na'Allah, the Rector Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed were among those honoured at Stardom Global TV, SGtv Man of the Year Award in Abuja on Tuesday.

They were also inducted into Stardom Global Hall of Fame at the event which took place at Abuja Sheraton Hotel and Towers.

Speaking at the event, the Minister who was represented by the chairman Abuja Municipal Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido expressed gratitude for the recognition.

She said the award is a task to do more in serving the residents and indigenes of the FCT and Nigerians at large.

According to the Minister, the welfare of the people is the cardinal objective why she and her boss, the Minister of FCT, Muhammad Musa Bello are in office, expressing readiness for an improved service delivery.

The Minister who was honoured as Minister of the Year was nominated and voted in a contest where she trounced four other contestants to emerge the winner.

Also, the Vice-Chancellor University of Abuja, Prof. Abdul Rasheed Na'Allah beamed with smile along with top management of the institution as his profile was read as Vice-Chancellor of the year.

He assured that he will continue to do his utmost best in raising the bar of higher education in the country.

Similarly, the Rector Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed went home with the coveted award of Rector of the year.

Until his appointment in 2019, Mohammed was the Deputy Rector (Academics) at the Federal Polytechnic Offa (FPO) Kwara State.

An academic giant, he holds two doctorate degrees, including one in Metallurgical and Material Science at the Whitewatersrand University, South Africa.

He has been rated high leadership, operational knowledge, emotional intelligence and employee development since appointment.

Others honoured at the event include, the Executive Secretary National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof. Mohammed Nasir Sambo, Oloffa of Offa, Oba Muftau Oloyede Gbadamosi, Chairman NDLEA, Brig. Gen Buba Marwa, MD NAIC, Mrs. Folashade Joseph, Chairman Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa state, Chief. Hon. Kia Ebidoughebofa, Director General, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD, Dr. Chioma Ejikeme and a host of others.

Earlier in her remarks, the General Manager SGtv, Tolulope Hinmikaiye said the award which was its second edition is geared towards spurring the awardees and also engender the spirit of performance among other public service holders as well as those in the private sector.

Also, Chairman Emeritus of SGtv and Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Labour and Civic Engagement, Bode John Adeyemi said the selection process in the award was transparent and open which further brought the awardees to public notice.

According Mr. Adeyemi, the voting process allowed Nigerians to own the entire process without interference from SGtv management.

The evercise which lasted for four weeks produced over 61,000 online voters.
