With so many superstars on show in the competition, ZonalSports have compiled the best players of the Champions League so far in 2021/22.

But first let's take note of the most notable performers of the Champions League group stages.

The youngest player to feature in the 2021/22 Champions League was Dario Essugo of Sporting CP. The Portuguese midfielder was only 16 years, 8 months, and 23 days when he mad his debut against Ajax.

At over 40 years of age, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the oldest player to feature in the 2021/22 Champions League campaign. With AC Milan out of the competition, this might be the Swede's last ever appearance before he calls time on an eventful playing career.

Ajax's Sebastian Haller was the group stage top scorer with 10 goals, followed by Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich (9) and Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig (7).

Bruno Fernandes was the top playmaker of the round, creating the most big chances (5) and assisting five times, also the most. Kylian Mbappe, Anthony and Leroy Sane are all joint-second with four.

Inter's Lautaro Martinez attempted the most shots overall, while no player found the target more times than Manchester City's Riyahd Mahrez (14).

As expected, Simon Mignolet of Club Brugge, who conceded the most goals, made the most saves in the 2021/2022 Champions League group stages. But Thibaut Courtois was the best goalkeeper of the round, boasting the highest save percentage.

27-year-old Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu of BSC Young Boys completed the most dribbles (32), while Nicolas Seiwald, 20, of RB Salzburg was the player most dribbled past (19).
