If any Afrobeat artist has had the best year this year, it’ll definitely be Starboy, Wizkid.

Since the release of his “Made In Lagos” album in October last year, every other thing Wizkid has touched has been made Gold. His hit jam “Essence” featuring Tems got certified Gold in the US and a remix with Justin Bieber made it an even more global record.

With “Essense” breaking new grounds every now and then, it was no surprise that Wizkid bagged a whopping two Grammy nominations. The first nomination was for “Best Global Music Album” for his “Made In Lagos (Deluxe)” album, an award brought home by Burna Boy last year and the second nomination for “Best Global Music Performance” for “Essence” featuring Tems.



Wizkid’s O2 Arena shows were completely sold out for three consecutive days(See Highlights Here). No wonder entertainment guru, Adesope Adejide concluded that Big Wiz is the artist of the decade.
