The Olympic singles champion Belinda Bencic may not participate in the upcoming 2022 Australia tournament because she was tested positive for COVID-19 after visiting Abu Dhabi, and she is experiencing severe symptoms. It comes just one day after Rafael Nadal revealed he had tested positive as well.

Bencic wrote on her Twitter handle that she was recently tested positive for COVID-19, despite being fully vaccinated. she claimed that she is currently isolating herself and taking all precautions to get through this as quickly as possible because she is experiencing quite severe symptoms.

Bencic assured her followers that she was in the final stages of preparing for the Australian Open Tournament, she claimed to travel to Australia as soon she is cleared and out of isolation.
