It's not about the banks. It's about the FGN that introduced stamp duty of ₦50 and we can't fight them. It was never like that till this administration came in, so let's redirect our frustration appropriately. The other charge could be alert charge which is a subscribe service and not by force. Even ATM some people mention is not by force. So you can afford to forget atm but don't beg people money on the road when you are stranded.
Let's be reasonable with these things. If a bank charges unduly, sue the bank and make money.

Why would a bank charge stamp duty on local money transfer?

Nigerians fail to channel their grievances to the right channel. FG removed the monthly atm card maintenance fee and made it quarterly, only to introduce a more punishing one "electronic transfer fee" of #50 on each inflow of 10,000 and above. Our complains should he to the govt not the banks.

No, first Bank is the most responsible bank in Nigeria and rarely removes your money anyhow, esp. if your account is savings...

Even transfers from other bank to FBN attracts minimal charge.
