Hello Fams, How can I Save my wife's kid brother from taking meth(Methamphetamine)?

meth (methamphetamine) has almost destroyed my wife's kid brother, as i went to my wife's village in imo state to celebrate the christmas with them, what i saw got me devastated.

since we got to the village, my wife and i have not been ourselves because this boy in question is a very humble, down-to-earth boy, he runs errands like there's no tomorrow. i developed this undying love for him when he came to leave with us in bayelsa, he's such a wonderful champ, this has given me a very serious concern because he's my wife's favorite ally in her entire family.

now, i'm planning on arranging some group of men from anambra state to give him the meth treatment but this boy does not like seeking for anybody's trouble but do not look for his,
if you seek his trouble one fold, he will give it back to you in hundred folds, that makes him a kind of dangerous human being, and my life and that of my wife will be at stake considering the fact that he has mingled with several bad boys in the hood.

sincerely, i really want to help this boy from the depth of my heart, not because it's affecting my wife negatively, but because of humanity sake and because of who he is.

please family, how best will l go about saving this boy from an impending doom without putting either my life or that of my wife in danger?

With this above quote I will advise you to mind your business for your safety and that of your family... You can't change people like these without getting your fingers burnt... Let someone else help him... I understand ur love for him but I am also sure a lot of people have tried to help him. He is into drugs and drug dealers and user also carry other deadly baggages along... There are people you want to keep as far away from you as possible... Drug dealers, drug users, Yahoo boys area boys in ur area and single moms.

If you understood addiction, you will realise that only him can change his life.

Give him microphone � and speaker � and a bible to preach against it for 7 days

CHANGE OF LOCATION IS A SINGULAR MOST POTENT MEASURE.

The truth is, he's the only one who can save himself. He only needs to tweak his mind about reality, which is being able to see the harmfulness of his act. But for now, all you can do is, take him to a rehabilitation center that'll help him abstain for a while. If I may ask how old is he?

Although I am yet to get a verified report on how the flogging treatment helps in curtailing the intake of the so called meth. If at all it does, you wouldn't because of his innocent nature and not give it to him.

In my own contribution, the one and only thing you can do to your brother in-law in to change his relocation far away from the home town, engage him in a very meaningful daily activity (this can be learning a trade or skill) and make sure to keep a close watch on his association.

Let me give you a little story and breakdown on how I was able to over come Drug addition.
Years ago I was hooked on drugs, name it, tramadol, codeine, meth, crack. This was as a result of the company I kept, bare in mind that my parents are well to do and very godly people who brought me up in same way. But I went astray when I got into the higher institution.
Tramadol was my regular dose as it was always and readily available for consumption, in a day I took nothing short of one thousand ml, it got so bad that I almost had a seizure one day while on the road. Glory to God for spearing my life that day.
A relative of mine found out after I got home from school and reported the case to my parents with evidence. Now this was how they were able to help me.
They showed more love, care and attention to me
The counselled me and prayed for and with me
I was taken to a general hospital that had addiction cases as its speciality ( you won't believe the kind of addiction cases I saw there and the personalities there), they wanted to place me on admission for a couple of months but one of the doctors there referred us to a private hospital that also specialises in the same case. His reason was that staying at the government general hospital I might not be safe from the drug as drugs were still smuggled into the hospital to those who could pay.
I got to the private hospital and ran a couple of test all came out positive (of course). We were asked to pay a very very huge sum of money to commence treatment . My parents were skeptical about it but paid part and I started to attend the support group but my parents didn't want me to be admitted in the hospital, so after 2 weeks they withdrew me and gave me special attention.
My location was changed and i was put to work, I worked closely with a relative who was aware of my predicament and he kept tabs on me. This work got my mind off drugs.
I got closer to God and also was determined to stop. Also I was meant to go for a monthly test to check the drug level in my urine. This happened for over 7 months.
As I write this, it's been 5 years now and not a single illicit drug has touched my lips.

After going through some comments above I'd love to give these few advices.
1. Don't let anyone discourage you from helping that young man, you might just be that angel God wants to use to help him, by so doing you have helped spare a generation and soul from death.
2. Do not use aggression on him, show him love and more love. Love conquers all thing, no matter how hardened a person is.
3. The hospitals I went to are all in Abuja, for the private hospital we were to spend over 1.5million (this was five years ago) in three months for treatment, the government hospital was on the cheaper side. Now I wouldn't suggest leaving him at the hospital as drugs can still find its way into the hospital. Instead take him to see a councilor and you also keep tabs on him, with LOVE.
