To the topic Obj is a member of the cartel running this country, you don't expect him to burst the bubble. But, really the Niger deltans are really been deprived of benefitting massively from their resources while bearing the brunt of recklessness of the FG in oil exploration.
Jonathan who ought to change the Dynamics worsen their plights.
The only hope is if we all look well and discover by chance any of them that's of good conscience to be elected in 2023 to correct many of these misnomers.

Obasanjo is trying to cover up his role in the bastardization of Niger Delta oil and subsequently that of the country in general.
There was nothing like'oil belongs to Nigeria' until Obasanjo enacted the 1978 land use act a decree that turned over the ownership of every mineral resources to FG.
That was immediately after Jimmy Carter visited and brainwashed him.
If not for Obasanjo the Niger Delta ecosystem's decadence would never be as we see it today.
Every day Nairalanders make post about sooth enveloping Port Harcourt, but you won't see the likes of Obasanjo or the crops of people called FG make any comment regarding how to address the issue.
Why? Because they are all guilty and are beneficiaries of oil exploration in the Niger Delta.

My pain is that those from the south west still support and worship those from the north

That is not right. Only some elites in SW does that. Most SW people are fed up of this evil country. And the political elites from SW are no different from those from other parts of Southern Nigeria. In fact, more SW non-political elites openly clamour for Nigeria breakup than any other groups in southern tribe. There are more civil society groups in SW that are currently pursuing Yoruba-Nation agenda than what you have anywhere else in the south. Except their approach is largely non-violence.

Are you not tired that your own people couldn't do but to accept shits .....
If this country had accepted Atiku and Peter Obi ......
Peter Obi can never be relegated to a mere maid in the Aso Rock....

That is the fear he was referring to.......
A true son of the soil of an Igbo race does not keep silent over what is not a norm to the power he has....
Try to relegate him and see yourself in disbelieve of howfar he can go without you...
Such is the kind of blood this decayed Nigerian needs...

The same with an Hausa man just like the era of Obasanjo and Atiku....we all saw the war and disagreement between them.....

An Hausa man can't be pocketed because you told him you will give him power , neither is an Igbo man that way...

What has the Niger-Delta people themselves done about the soot problem? Have they come out on the streets to demand a stop to the problem? You see, if you refuse to help yourself, nobody will help you. Let them show seriousness first.

Senior Lawyer, Ozekhome Disagrees With Ex-President Obasanjo Over ‘Oil Belongs To Nigeria, Not Niger Delta’ Statement

http://saharareporters.com/2021/12/29/senior-lawyer-ozekhome-disagrees-ex-president-obasanjo-over-%E2%80%98oil-belongs-nigeria-not

Reacting in a statement sent to SaharaReporters, Ozekhome said a law that “literally steals the resources of a people, punishing them with destruction of their only available aquatic and agrarian life, even though in the statute books, is a bad, aberrant and obnoxious law.”

Above is what Obasanjo actually said. It is the law of the land, the oil and any natural deposits belong to the corporate Nigeria. You might disagree with the messenger but the message still stands. Instead of working on changing the law/statute, you are castigating Obasanjo. Direct your energy and resources towards revising the law, all these SAN on papers are just empty brains upstairs.

For years, we've made billions of dollars in oil revenues. But still, we are poor. I will read uk-dissertation.com review now for help in essay. This is absurd. This video is calling for our government and the oil companies to stop stealing money from us as citizens that pay taxes on fuel and other petroleum products.

They will tell you one Nigeria is better for them instead of Biafra.OK,why not be serious in getting naija delta as a republic or ally with Biafra to brake this country after every body will go on its separate country. This naija delta is as confuse as north. All they do is to be forming Akpos to every tribe.

Oil belongs to Nigeria. The community and state is given a %.

The ownership of oil can be argued to the owner of the land bt that’s not how natural resources which u did absolutely nothing to create bt free from nature or God works. The whole environment contributes to nature.

The man talk the talk

Brilliant rejoinder laced with grammar, Latin, and copious history.

OBJ is seemingly the lone voice of unity in the now Nigeria. He demonstrated that by not only given the Cocoa ( not a natural resources as OP claimed; imported and cultivated, same rubber, groundnut....), unlike oil. OBJ gave Cocoa and it's proceeds Obafemi Awolowo University, Liberty Stadium, WNTV/ WNBS, the toil and labour of Awolowo and Yoruba people and missionary schools, to the Federal Government.

I personally find it difficult to forgive him. He robbed Yoruba race of property and strides of development.

I also share in his sentiments: putting his life on the line to fight for Nigerian's unity.

To me, the latter is a sincere mistake he made. It influences his judgement.

On the whole, this frictions of interests, if it failed to break the nation, would produce a fine country, this will happen after all the prodigal fathers are all gone.

Bros I will try Al my best not to be overly emotional about this.. But please it will be better if you take this advice dearly. Until you understand this battle is between the upper class and the lower class, then there won't be any change in this country. There's no difference between wike, bihari, Tinubu atiku and all. These guys don't see themselves through the lens of religion and tribe,. They only see themselves through the lens of interest that is available to share. The masses are just too dumb to see this. Until those people from the lower class come together in unity this country will always get worse. Anyone who believes Nnamdi kanu and Sunday igboho are fighting for a sincere course is stupid and naive. It's still the same political class who don't have enough access to the Commonwealth are still the same people who are financing all these guys and these guys are being paid heavily. When it's time for revolution everyone and by everyone I mean the lower class will plunge out to correct wrongs in our societies. Bro know this and have peace

You seems not to understand what is happening in this country.

The nepotistic nature of Buhari is not an masses versus elite dichotomy

The mining of gold in Zamfara by state government is not an elites vs masses scheme

The concentration of security chiefs in one region is not masses verses elites plan

The militarisation of southern Nigeria with numerous checkpoints while northern roads are left without such barricades has nothing to do with elite vs masses

The concentration of absolute power at the centre has nothing to do with masses or the rich.

This is clear Nationals war, it is scheme to dominate and oppress

Oil belongs to Nigeria but the soots belong to Niger Deltans, right?

Oil spillage belongs to the populace in the suburb.

The region giving the supposed giant of Africa wealth is not reaping the dividend of their proceeds.

How banal!

Well said, sir.
How about the ones you were given? Have you accounted for any? We all saw what happened with the NDDC the last time and the fainting Chairman. How the south-south past governors (Alamieyeseigha, James Ibori others) mis-managed funds. Ownership of oil that you cannot do anything tangible with. As far as I know the monthly allocation of the south-south states doubles and some times tripples the allocation given to some states in this same country.
The south-south (& Nigerians) should be accountable first and every other thing will be fine.
The only thing I find unjust and inappropriate is the ownership of oil Wells in the south-south by the Northerners, that is what should be fought against.

Obasanjo is right as per the constitution for now.
The kind of leaders we have today even with resource control, the citizen will still suffer. These politician will still convert state resources to their personal property.
What Nigerians need is accountability and needs to start from the grassroots, we need to ask questions about statement of affairs and stewardship of our representatives not minding our party affiliation starting from the counsellors, local government chairmen and so on
