Over the years, the exploits of Vice president Yemi Osinbajo in government have been the topic of discussion for many analysts and revisionists, the will to help the country and make progressive changes anywhere he finds himself and at any assignment he's given

Recall that he was once the Lagos state attorney general and commissioner for justice under Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The reforms he undertook revolutionized not just the lagos state judicial system, but judicial sector in Nigeria.

One of the long admirers of Osinbajo's achievements is the Emir of Lafia, Hon. Justice Sidi Bage Muhammed 1, who while speaking at the 26th edition of the MSME clinic applauded the vice president. He didn't mince words when he spoke glowingly about how Osinbajo's role impacted the country.

In his words “Your Excellency, today, I feel the life to receive you in this ancient palace. It has always been my dream in life, that one day, the almighty will bring you here."

He continued “I have my special reason for that, because those of us in the profession, the legal profession, we appreciate the fact that, your Excellency, you are a pacesetter. God made out today, a modern judiciary in Nigeria"

"Your Excellency, most of us who are close by have noticed since after your appointment as the Attorney General of Lagos State, that brought about the revolution we are having today in the Nigerian judiciary."

"Your Excellency, it is your coming in that we had the first major review of the rules of court, we never had that in Nigeria. This rules of court that came in became the first in Lagos."

"We then at the Federal Capital Territory went to borrow it and today that has become uniformed rules in Nigeria. It is your handiwork. We never forget your tenure as the Attorney General of Lagos this is because it was the first time in the history of this country that the prosecution of high profile matters in this country really made sense in this country."

His appointment as Attorney General was informed by his reformed-minded contributions to the justice sector while he served in 1999, as member and Secretary of a Think-Tank and Transition Work Group, a body set up by then newly elected Governor, Bola Tinubu, to deliberate on strategies for transition from military to democratic government in Lagos State.

On behalf of the state, he was engaged in a number of legal battles with the then Olusegun Obasanjo led administration.

Prof. Osinbajo always finds himself with the backing of his governor on opposing aisles in a court room with the legal team of the Federal Government. Most of these cases he won.

As the Lagos AG, it was not all about litigation for Prof Osinbajo, during his tenure as Attorney-General and Justice Commissioner, he introduced major reforms that surged the state’s judiciary to the current height that makes it a reference point in judicial efficiency in the country.

He established the Office of the Public Defender (OPD) in 2003 to provide FREE legal advice and representation to indigent or disadvantaged citizens of the state in criminal and civil cases.

In addition, he aided the establishment of the Citizens Mediation Centre (CMC) in Lagos to provide a non-adversarial forum for the mediation and settlement of a wide range of disputes between parties who, on invitation, voluntarily present themselves for mediation at the Centre.

Professor Osinbajo also recommended and saw through the implementation of a welfare package for Judges of Lagos State High Court, far higher and better than those enjoyed by Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

After assuming the role of Vice president in 2015, Osinbajo continued to oversee changes, authoring several social welfare schemes that have been deeply rooted in the country and praised all over the continent and beyond.

The social investment plans for example have helped millions of young graduates. The Npower being a major scheme under the (SIP) employed young graduates and pays #30,000 stipend every month.

The school feeding programme for pupils in the primary school has also to a large extent improved the attendance and well being of the pupils. The mental strength of these kids have improved immensely. They wake up ready to go to school because 1 meal per day is guaranteed. This has equally eased the pressure on parents, especially parents who are not buoyant enough to feed their kids daily.

Trader moni interest free loans starting from #10,000 and growing all the way to #100,000 with repayments for petty traders and artisans. Farmer moni loan which is repayable over a period of 6 months enables beneficiaries to access higher amount up to #300,000.

His contributions to the MSME sector is also a major highlight. Overtime, he has launched the MSME clinic in 29 different states, with various shared facilities meant to improve the productivity of states, the local economy and ofcourse our GDP.

He has always been a lover of innovations, youths and development, one of the very few buy Nigeria, use Nigeria enthusiasts.

The creation of Presidential Enabling Business Environmental Council (PEBEC) meant to improve the ease of doing business and remove the bottlenecks that make it tough to establish and run a business in Nigeria has helped greatly. This ofcourse influenced Nigeira's ranking in the world bank ease of doing business.

His role in settling the dispute among elders and chiefs in the Niger delta region and the brilliant way he handled the modular refineries was presidential. Till today, the region has continued to witness immense peace thanks to his visit and resourcefulness.

The outbreak of covid 19 last year was the sole reason why the Economic sustainability plan was introduced. Chaired by the Vice president to oversee the country's post covid economy as many lost their jobs, business got disrupted and families were thrown into disarray.

The plan came at a time Nigerians needed it. So far,  different categories of people have enjoyed the different programmes under the scheme. Ranging from the survival fund, installation of solar home systems, promotion of domestic gas utilisation, mass agricultural programme, mass housing programme, road construction programme, extensive public works, strengthening the social safety net, support for Micro, small and medium enterprises, reduction in NAFDAC registration fees and lots more.

Those facets of the ESP will continue to improve private businesses, cater for homes and the general well being of Nigerians, especially those bitterly affected by the COVID 19 outbreak.

This immense thirst for progress and the evangelistic commitment Osinbajo puts to work is perhaps the reason why many believe he should succeed president Buhari in 2023.

VP Osinbajo is a good man committed to the progress of Nigeria. He has on more than enough instances proven to be a democrat and patriotic Nigerian leader to the core, as someone worthy of following.

Every people's friendly policy he implemented under the Buhari-Osinbajo administration are testimonials to the fact that he is a leader worth following!

The Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP) that bailed Nigerians out of the Covid-19 oppression plus many other welfarist programmes are his brainchild. If such a man becomes Nigeria's President, he will do more.

Osinbajo is the BEST looking at all these gladiators for 2023, no controversy! With him, no contest!
