Like the headline reads, I want to know if remote jobs are only for IT professionals alone. Are there no non-IT jobs that one can apply for and work remotely?

I’d love informed responses.

You can work as a customer service representative - remotely.

I know quite a number of people doing it and getting paid well.

Sounding like what I wanna hear.

Do you know how they got the job?

And is experience required?

Lalasticlala, please this thread would make sense with more audience

Used to work as a customer care agent for MTN too.

In my case, you have to get the job first then opt in for WFH (work from home)

Alot of companies offer that opportunity right now, just apply for customer service jobs and ask if there is provision for WFH.

Sun King offer the same opportunity too.

Yes, all remote jobs require experience because companies don't want to risk assigning tasks to someone who has no sense of responsibility and a newbie

To get started in the remote industry, try from freelance sites like Upwork and Fiverr. You can land some projects there. Some people have also landed remote, full-time positions from those freelance marketplaces. Alternatively, you can try LinkedIn or Facebook groups. You should start as an intern.

However, you need to have the necessary qualifications to convince employers to hire you. Unless you are looking to work for Nigerian companies, landing overseas remote positions is very competitive and tough.

Good luck...

Thank you very much for this.

But what qualifications qualifies as “necessary” in this instance?

It depends on what you are going for.
Many companies and training institutes offer customer service training programs online. You can get them on Udemy and Coursera. You can also try YouTube if you want to learn without a certificate. Just visit either of the sites I mentioned earlier and search for relevant courses.

Customer service is not my area of speciality though. Perhaps a specialist will be able to recommend a better course, so I will make room for that. However, attaching your certification to your online profile enhances your employability.

Truth be told, tech jobs are the most popular and best-paying remote jobs.

Yea, I know Tech is probably the best if you are looking for remote jobs. But I have chosen a career path and it’s not tech.

Don’t think I can bring myself to start learning coding and all that now.
