Yoruba were not supportive of PDP when Obasanjo won PDP presidential primaries and won presidential election.

Obasanjo was dashed presidency because of zoning.

If they field a best Yoruba presidential candidate for APC for 2023, the north shall massively support a nothern presidential candidate in another party and win.
The SS will never forget or forgive the role Tinubu with other Yoruba played to bring down Goodluck Jonathan from office.

No Igbo shall tolerate how Yoruba slighted the Igbo by refusing rotation in the south now that it's the turn of the Igbo to present a successor to PMB.

Ibos should unite first before coming out to request from post of presidency, "unity" is what both ibos and Yorubas lack and that is what empowers the north. Truth be told, I am more concerned about competency and at the same time, I am tired of seeing northerners occupying all the key positions under this present government.

You threatened every region, you insult every Nigerian, you demarket Nigeria in internationally. Now you have the guts to say you want to contest for the same Nigeria.

GEJ won in 2011 because the north and most of Nigeria respected zoning.

Go ahead and present a Yoruba in any of the two major political parties in 2022/23 to succed PMB. That will give you a Northerner succeding PMB.

Do you people even understand that given Nigeria's lopsided political structure, no southern Nigeria's presidential candidate can win presidential election if the north massively supports a Northerner as presidential candidate? A presidential candidate needs to win 25% of votes in 24 states before the candidate can be proclaimed winner of Nigeria's presidential election.

Bottom line: if Yoruba respect zoning and support Igbo to present presidential candidates in the 2 major political parties, as we did in 1999, presidency shall come to the south in 2023. But if Yoruba which had its turn through OBJ between 1999-2007 is competing with the Igbo in 2023, the south needs to kiss bye earlier to the 2023 presidency.

Why wouldn't incumbent president GEJ beat Atiku in PDP Primaries? Do you not understand what incumbency powers can achieve?

You people cite zoning to enable the south present successor to PMB, but in the southern regions, you people refuse zoning, because it's the turn of the Igbo to present the next president of Nigeria. Don't you see how stupeed you are?

You people can't see that once Osinbajo or another Yoruba is given APC presidential ticket, most of northern region shall move to a northern PDP presidential candidate who must win.?

You people can't see that if Yoruba refuses zoning of presidency between the
southern regions now, the north shall capitalise on that to abolish zoning finally.
Can't you people see that without zoning between north and south, no Yoruba or Igbo, or indeed anyone from the southern regions, can win presidential election in Nigeria - once northern region's leading politicians support a northern presidential candidate?

If it were really that simple, how did MKO Abiola defeat a northern candidate in 1993? How did GEJ manage the same feat in 2011, right after Yaradua had died prematurely in office? And if northerners are really the blind tribalists you seem to think they all must be, why didn't they opt for Atiku over Buhari, given that Atiku was just as much a northerner, and Buhari had already recorded 5 years of failure? Why are northerners protesting Buhari in Abuja at this very moment? Why have so many northern leaders publicly condemned his failures on security matters?

All you've done here is projected your own extreme tribalism onto the rest of the country, assuming "the north" will do to others what you clearly would like to do the rest of the country, with your demands that the presidency be handed to you on a platter regardless of the preferences of voters, even as you insist on insulting those same voters by calling them "slaves" and worse. Too bad for you that democracy doesn't work that way other than in a dictatorship. Nobody is going to vote for the representatives of people who consider themselves "better" than everyone else and owed power simply for existing.

I won't even mention the fact that there are some 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria, of which the Hausa, Fulani, Igbo and Yoruba number only 4, and all those other ethnicities have just as much right to demand their "turn" as the Igbos do. In the south alone, when have any of the Edos, Urhobos, Efiks, Ibibios and many others had one of their own in Aso Rock? At least Igbos have been Head of State (Azikiwe) and Vice President (Ekwueme and Ukiwe), so why shouldn't all these other groups be put in front of the line? That none of you angrily demanding an "Igbo presidency" with menaces ever suggest such alternatives says a great deal about where you're coming from - an entitled mentality that feels frustrated everyone else hasn't recognized you're "obviously" so much better fitted to lead than everyone else.

The present political structure was not there when MKO Abiola contested presidential election. A presidential candidate needs to win 25% of votes in 24 states before proclaimed winner.

GEJ won through incumbency help and support for zoning.

In 1999,OBJ was dashed presidency, support for zoning played leading role.
In 2003, OBJ employed incumbency help to win.

I couldn't go to read to digest the rest of your epistle, after reading your early paragraphs where you exhibited crass ignorance of the election process of Nigeria.

That's irrelevant to the fact that MKO Abiola beat his northern adversary even in the north! According to simple-minded tribalists like you, such a thing should have been impossible.
GEJ won through incumbency help and support for zoning.
If incumbency were such a powerful help, why did he then lose in 2015? And what about all those millions of northerners who supported him in 2011 only to switch to the very same Buhari they'd rejected in 2015? Did someone order them to agree to zoning in 2011, even though Yaradua hadn't finished a single term?

In 1999,OBJ was dashed presidency, support for zoning played leading role.
Even if this were true (which it isn't, no matter how many times you Igbo tribalists make the claim), that still doesn't explain 1993 or 2011, which are the dates I asked about, not 1999. In any case, the real reason Obasanjo was chosen in 1999 was because northerners thought of him as a safe pair of hands, who could be trusted to give them back the reins of power after a brief interval just as he'd done in 1979. It was for this same reason that Yorubas rejected him en-masse in favor of Olu Falae. Only afterwards did the likes of you and other Igbo chauvinists turn Obasanjo into a "Yoruba" candidate, even though he gave most of the top roles in his cabinet to Igbos.

In 2003, OBJ employed incumbency help to win.
Again, this is irrelevant to the question of how northerners could have rejected "their own" for a southerner both in 1993 and in 2011. Obviously you can't fit this reality into your rigidly tribalistic viewpoint, so you ignore it in favor of irrelevant straw men about Obasanjo.

I couldn't go to read to digest the rest of your epistle, after reading your early paragraphs where you exhibited crass ignorance of the election process of Nigeria.
If you weren't so clearly intellectually impaired, the irony wouldn't be lost on you of accusing someone of "ignorance" even while admitting you didn't bother to read what the person said. How can you know the "ignorance" in the contents of what you were too lazy or stupid to read?

As I've already said - and you tried to pretend not to notice - if Nigerian politics really is a matter of "tribe by tribe" zoning, then by all rights Igbos should go right to the back of the line, along with Yorubas, Hausa and Fulanis. The Edos, Urhobos, Efiks, Ibibios, Itsekiris and Annangs are all southern tribes who should take priority over Igbos, and that's ignoring all the "middle belt" tribes who have also never had a taste of the top jobs. That you feel Igbos - and only Igbos - have the right to jump the queue says that "equity" for you is simply a matter of the old "I Go Before Others" mentality which makes you resented by everyone else.

1) desire to take political control of Nigeria in order to continue to eat fat on the proceeds from oil and gas that come from the east and SS regions
2) envy for the Igbo - these are mostly what ignite your energy to write all the bunkum here.
FYI, without the lopsided political structure of Nigeria, Igbo the largest single ethnic group in Nigeria, shouldn't be asking for zoning of the presidency because Igbo has in abundance, presidential materials who can even lead the US.

But in Nigeria's presidential election process, political godfathers first select who shall be president, then present him as candidate in one of the foremost political parties, only for the electorate to merely formalize with votes. You don't even understand why and how it functions like that.

Stop speaking long English here and calling me tribalist. Tribalism is at the core of Nigeria's political process. Tribalism is even what spurs you to pen down all the rot you have been penning down here.

It's too bad that your imagined ability to read minds over the internet is based on nothing more than delusion bordering on insanity. The "east" has no oil worth speaking about, the SS does, and they have never identified themselves with you lot, not since Ironsi and Ojukwu sentenced Isaac Adaka Boro to death in 1966 for wanting to be free of Igbo domination, the very same maneuver the shameless hypocrite Ojukwu would pull in 1967.

If anyone wants to "eat fat on the proceeds from oil and gas", it is very clearly you brazen tribalists who demand that other Nigerians surrender their democratic rights to you on a platter simply because you imagine it to be your "turn" to "chop" the "national cake" through the usual corrupt means. If you cared about more than such base corruption, you wouldn't be angrily demanding the presidency for "the SE" while threatening thunder and lightning if those you've spent so long insulting and belittling don't give you your way. A person who cares about what will serve the interests of all Nigerians best will be agitating for the best candidate to win, regardless of where he (or she) may hail from, not for power to be simply given to a "kinsman" without having to do the hard work of competing for votes against other candidates.

FYI, without the lopsided political structure of Nigeria, Igbo the largest single ethnic group in Nigeria, shouldn't be asking for zoning of the presidency because Igbo has in abundance, presidential materials who can even lead the US.
And right on queue, here are the typical wild arrogance, outsized sense of entitlement and extreme delusions of grandeur which make it so hard for other Nigerians to support Igbos for the highest office. Why should we hand over power to people who feel themselves too much above us to try to win our support by explaining how they can make our lives better?

To begin with, it's simply a ridiculous lie to claim Igbos are "the largest single ethnic group in Nigeria", when every census and independent survey has shown there are more Hausas and Yorubas than there are Igbos, a reality not helped by the fact that polygamy is still common amongst both groups while most Igbos are Catholics. To claim what you have with a straight face suggests you're either too blinkered to know how to lie plausibly, or you really believe your own fantasies of Igbo awesomeness, in which case you have a loose grasp on reality.

But in Nigeria's presidential election process, political godfathers first select who shall be president, then present him as candidate in one of the foremost political parties, only for the electorate to merely formalize with votes. You don't even understand why and how it functions like that.
In short, your position is that Nigerian politics is merely a matter of "godfatherism", and that it is therefore the turn of you and your "kinsmen" to benefit from this institutional corruption by having the vote rigged in your favor. In effect, you admit that I'm right about your base motivations.

Stop speaking long English here and calling me tribalist.

I don't need to speak "long English" for your tribalism to be blazingly obvious. I'm merely spelling out for you the consequences of your own words.

Tribalism is at the core of Nigeria's political process. Tribalism is even what spurs you to pen down all the rot you have been penning down here.
Ah yes, the old "everyone else is a racist so it's alright for me to be one too" defense. All you're doing is projecting your own jaundiced mindset upon the rest of the country. It's a nice cop-out for those who lack the humility, good sense and minimal cunning required to disguise their own inflated sense of self-worth long enough to make nice with others, form alliances and put in the ground work to override the distrust bred from decades of high-handedness, thinking it preferable to keep shouting "you beggars, fools and slaves better give us Aso Rock or we'll burn the country down!", as if childish threats and tantrums ever sold voters on a candidate.

Too bad the inconvenient facts about 1993 and 2011 both argue against your position, as neither MKO Abiola nor Goodluck Jonathan would have defeated their northern opponents if tribalism were the be-all and end-all you insist it to be. The Nigerian presidency is not a matter of "turn by turn", and even if it were, every single ethnic group in Nigeria has as much right to a "turn" as Igbos do, but your sense of "equity" and "fairness" strangely extends only to you and your "kinsmen" ...
