It was all glitz and glamour today at Ezinifite, the country home of Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji KSJI, member Representing Aguata Federal Constituency as his mother, Chief Lady Ngozi Umeoji was honored with the recognition of “Mater Profunditas” by the Catholic Church and Diocese of Ekwulobia.

The event which started with a solemn mass officiated by the Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, His Lord Bishop Peter Ebere Okpalaeke, had entire people of Aguata, friends, colleagues, associates and well wishers of the Umeoji family from all works of life who trooped to celebrate the Matriarch.

In the sermon delivered by the Bishop and other goodwill message from priests, reverend sisters and parishioners, Chief Lady Ngozi Umeoji was eulogized for her outstanding humanitarian services to mankind and essentially, the people of Aguata.

The Bishop noted that Lady Ngozi Umeoji, the mother of Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, Dame Dr. Adaora Nwokoye, ASP Ifeanyi Umeoji and others have remained a shining light and leading example in Gospel of Jesus Christ who admonished us to live life for others and be charitable.

“She lives for charity, the work of the Church, service to mankind and unquantified love for God almighty and humanity”.

Bishop Okpaleke described Lady Ngozi Umeoji as the Mother Theresa of her generation and noted that her life on earth will remain ever green in the minds and life of many who have been elevated, blessed and lifted through her charity works and benevolence.

Climax of the event was the conferment of the highly revered title of Mater Profunditas on Lady Ngozi Umeoji by the Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese in appreciation of her services to mankind and essentially, Aguata people and family thanksgiving to thank God almighty for his blessings upon them.

The Church prayed to God to sustain her in good health and wisdom to continue her efforts to better humanity.

The member Representing Aguata Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji who delivered the commendation speech on behalf of the family, thanked the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia for the honor bestowed on their Matriarch and for finding the family worthy of being celebrated.

He highlighted briefly the influence of their mother and how she taught them to be charitable and Godly in all they do in life which has continued to impact them positively.

He noted that her life has been of service to others and goodwill and the family will continue to uphold those virtues which has become a trademark with the Umeojis.

He thanked everyone who had come to celebrate with them and reiterated commitment to humanity service and Nation building.

After the church service, guests, supporters and friends were treated to a celebration with sumptuous delicacies to the delight of everyone in attendance.
