For a payload to enter orbit, it needs to reach speeds above 7,600 (meters per second). We reached 7,350,” the spokesperson said.

A rocket launched by Iran on Thursday has ended with the satellites aboard failing to attain orbit, as the launch itself was not speedy enough to hit the required altitude.

The announcement was made by a spokesperson for the country’s defense ministry in a documentary about the launch, which aired on state television on Friday.

Footage of Thursday’s launch was also shown on state TV. The domestically-built Simorgh rocket carried its payload – three research satellites – up to 470 kilometers.

A Simorgh launch in 2016 successfully put its payload into orbit, but there have been multiple failed launch attempts since then.

Believe it or not, the reason why we are backward is because 90% of Africans is made of people like this. They have nothing to offer but condemnations, ridicule, and useless prayers when things go south

They’ve been under sanctions for the past 50 years, they’ve gotten to the stage of building their on rocket, nuclear technology? I think they’re getting a whole lot right. Tell me what Nigeria as a country has gotten right since independence

The reason why I created this thread is for the kids (a lot of them on NL) to understand the level of advancement, despite western sanctions , that Iran has attained in both military and civilian technology.

They built their rocket engine, built their own firing mechanism, their launch pad, and their satellite.

We have how many universities in this Nigeria? Thousands of professors?
What have we built?

We as a nation must realign our priorities. What is the essence of having many universities and churn out “useless” graduates? We have too many quacks running around our national management. They have PhD but they can’t produce a match stick.

Please, if we are talking about countries don’t mention Nigeria again
North Korea have been under sanctions for years and yet are building and controlling their own internet.
Imagine NK with less GDP and PPP than Nigeria yet built and launched satellite into space while Nigeria can’t even build a house without falling

This is the posts. Many educated Nigerians have little to offer. The quacks are more interested in fighting for pay raise than coming up with sensible solutions.

I understand your point. But Iran shuns out more graduates than Nigeria and they are some of the top countries with the most STEM graduates in the world.

What we need is total overhauling and Proper funding. Believe me, we don't even have enough graduates and professors when you consider our large population size.

Take this post to the national assembly and show it to your senators when next they convene.

YES.

IT'S THE RUSSIAN EQUIVALENT OF NASA.

YOU MUST BE REFERRING TO BLUE ORIGIN, ANOTHER PRIVATE OWNED SPACE TECH COMPANY OWNED BY JEFF BEZOS.

BLUE ORIGIN AND SPACE X HAVE BEING LOCKED IN A BITTER BATTLE TO FERRY NASA ASTRONAUTS AND EQUIPMENTS TO SPACE.

NASA AND THE COURTS CHOSE SPACE X WHICH HAS A MORE IMPRESSIVE TRACK RECORD.

SO, THAT'S AMERICAN AFFAIR.
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA.
