Teniola Apata, also known as Teni, a Nigerian singer, narrowly survived an alleged attempted abduction in Rivers state.


The performer was at a New Yea event in the state when turmoil and pandemonium erupted, forcing everyone to flee.


According to eyewitnesses, some unknown individuals attempted to kidnap Teni as she was performing on stage, but her armed bouncers fired rounds into the air.


A video from the incident captured the moment the alleged kidnapping was about to take place and the audience dispersed, resulting in a stampede. In the video, gunshots can also be heard.


An audience member resorted to Twitter to recount what purportedly occurred during the concert.
