LG Mobile And Blackberry OS Have Finally Shutdown by ICTNEWS: 1:32pm On Jan 04, 2022
As Big-Tech companies are shutting down left and right, and TechCrunch making an exclusive list of 11 tech companies that shut down in 2021, it is no doubt that indeed 2021 will never be forgotten, especially because of the heartbreaking news that were trending.

Many tech giants had to shut down some of their most admired services, or completely shut down operations - Which raises an important question, if these tech giants can't keep up, what then is the fate of new tech startups that seem to be taking the world by storm? Is there hope?

We'll leave you to ponder on that question for now...

Should we be expecting more shutdown announcements before the end of the 2022 first quarter?

Certainly! As negative as this may sound, but if you look at things in hindsight - You'll see that this is something to expect. If you often follow the trends of new startups on ProductHunt & Kickstarter, what you'll notice is, most of these products or services aren't properly set up for success - In the sense that, with the way the consumers behavior keeps changing in recent times, and with the pool of alternative products and services to choose from, especially some with richer features and more competitive edge, the future is indeed hazy for most of these brilliantly created products or services.

If Big-Tech companies can be affected, leading to multiple shut down in 2021 alone, this will surely affect new startups too who are yet to understand the adversaries of the tech marketplace ecosystem.

Unfortunately, being big couldn't save these two brands, as 2021 saw the end of their activities in the mobile phone manufacturing industry.

1. LG Mobile Division:
This may not come as a surprise to many, but to a majority of end-users who loved the features of the LG mobile brand, especially when it started making smartphones - The brands mobile phone product garnered lots of buzzes - However, it wasn't enough to sustain its operation for a long time, especially with bigger players such as Apple, Samsung, Huawei and other fast-rising Chinese mobile brands aggressively marketing their products.

LG announced on its website (lgnewsroom) in April that it was shutting down its mobile phone division in the bid to focus on other projects, such as it's home appliance and other innovative solutions.

2. Blackberry has Packed up.
There has been an official announcement about the blackberry OS that it'll no longer support devices, whether that would be its 7.1 or 10 or later versions that are available, they will all be shutdown - This would mean, if you own a blackberry device, you would not be able to make calls, use the text feature and probably encounter issues with your browsers and WiFi connection.

The Blackberry OS is packed up and you might just have to look for alternatives, if you're not planning on joining the bandwagon of iPhone and Android OS users yet, you may as well switch for KaiOS powered devices. They seem to have some nice features worth checking out.
