Religion can simply be defined as the belief in the existence of a supreme being and practices in the worship of this being. Religion has been in existence from time immemorial. On the other hand,World peace is the concept of an ideal state of happiness, freedom, and peace within and among all people and nations on Planet Earth. The number of religions in the world can't be ascertained but majorly,we have religions such as Christianity,Islam, African tradition religion, Hinduism, Judaism etc. These religions have practices that differentiate them from others.

The world would have been a very peaceful place to live without religion. Religion has brought humanity more harm, hatred, segregation and above all war compared to other factors of violence in the society. The hatred and segregation brought by religion is not only restricted to adherents of the different religions hating on one another but adherents within the same religion.

A Christian will hate a follow Christian because they don't worship in same church or better still not belonging to same denomination. This also applied to othe religions such as Islam, Hindu and the rest. It's quite unfortunate that all these religions preach peace which they lack,preach love they don't show, preach forgiveness which they don't demonstrate and above all, preach against war which they instigate secretly.

I know some religious fanatics will come for me for this write up. But one thing that can't be disputed is the fact that religion has contributed alot to the problems of the world today. A religion wants to see itself as the best and the only sure way to a life after death here on Earth. By so doing,they speak negatively of the other religions thereby instigating hatred for the religions in their members.

A world without religion will be a perfect world free of all what religion has brought to us today. Let me set the record straight, religion isn't the only way world Peace have been tampered with. But u can't help but agree with me that religion is a major player when it comes to disruption of world peace. The earlier we realise this,the better for us.
