Wait, so where exactly did all the crazy bill money we have been paying go to, individuals pockets?

The FG is a fool. These Disco know they'll not renew their contracts so they are busy putting money aside

All what the discos and federal government are doing are just waste of time...let them just do the right thing...make the power sector a competitive sector... fully 100% privatized.. or remove power from the exclusive list put it to the current list ...this is the solution to the electricity problem in nigeria ... simple
Re: DISCOS’ Indebtedness Hits ₦326 Billion In Nine Months, Says FG by Nobody: 12:32pm On Jan 11, 2022
Basically they are in debt because

1.The laws governing DISCOS don't let them set the price for power, and force them to operate at a loss

2.About 40% of customers don't pay for power, whether rich, poor, etc.

The only way to resolve the debt is simple.

1.discos have to be allowed to charge cost reflective tariffs or simply put allowed to set prices

2.Everyone gets a prepaid meter

3.Everyone, from government to the poor , PAYS THEIR BILL., and everyone DOES NOT BYPASS THEIR METER.

I don't blame the DISCOs. They are taking advantage of citizens because Nigeria is not used to enforcing laws...
I know that nothing lasts forever and corruption will be a thing of the past one day...

With the over bloated bill most Nigerians are paying for their epileptic power supply. This is just a case of another embezzlement and corruption on the part of PHCN disco operators.

Will they still have this shortfall if they're able to provide 24/7 Electricity to Nigerians?
Why can't Discos invest in Distribution equipment?

I don't just know why even basic things can't just work well in this country!
Electricity Generation, Transmission and Distribution is not Rocket science!
God help us!

Then their revenue without commensurate power supply should be subjected to critical check by EFCc because with estimated billing alone, they rake in onomatopaeic amount of money monthly.
power or no power, they still bill and rake in humongous amount.

Prepaid meters will solve this problem but they prefer estimated billing where they can reap where they have not sown.

Pymetrics:
Discos owes federal government agency and federal government MDAs owes Discos. All in circulation

Disco is the biggest Frauds in Nigeria and that is why we need to ask questions and questions again!
- the present Discos light - Generation/Distributionarrangements can NEVER bring INDUSTRIALIZATION to Nigeria and those in Authority knows it well, as they are feeding on it!
- Situations where 70% of Discos Officials stayed in the Office as engineers- doing what, while footsoldiers carried ladders every now and then,is absurd to Nigerians but we all love it that way!
- We don't produce Pre-Paid Meters, yet the ones imported are highjicked by the Powerful people- including the Discos Officials is a perennial Frauds in Nigeria Circles.
- We must adopt - No light - No Payments for Discos but here No Lights, Darkness is sold to Nigerians every day, every Year and is the most wicked thing on Nigerians.
- why are the Discos Senior Management Members always have Lights to the detriment of average Nigerians? Is this Fair to the general Public?
- This is why we need to ask questions- who OWNS Discos in Nigeria? Are they same People who were once in Power but did not help in fixing Nigeria during their tenures?
- Obasanjo and GEJ and the Present Govt-should tell Nigerians- Why we have Darkness and no REGULAR Lights in Nigeriia up till Now- in this 21st Century? Unfortunately, Discos only gives light to those closer where they generate Lights ( to avod Communal Clash) but other 99% Nigerians- are in Total Darkness!
Too Shameful- Nigeria can't move on this way!

No wonder they want to kill us here in Uyo . Charging customers 75% of arrears. And very high unit .
My friend in Port Harcourt told me 54 unit is #2000 in Port Harcourt
While I am buying 41 unit for #2500 in Uyo.

You are paying some arrears.
