This is one of Britain's highest award.

This did not come as a surprise to us as Chief Ernest Shonekan was once the UAC Boss in Nigeria.

UAC is a British company.

On a softer note, Chief Ernest Shonekan was a peaceful man. He is not the talking type and does not look for trouble.

After General Abacha overthrew his government of three month Chief Ernest Shonekan never created problem or try to criticise the government that overthrew him.

Chief Ernest Shonkan went peacefully back to private business after his government was toppled by the power hungry late General Sani Abacha.

SHONEKAN DID NOT CREATE ANY TROUBLE OR WAHALA FOR THE ABACHA ADMINISTRATION DESPITE THE DISGRACEFUL WAY HE WAS PUSH OUT OF PUBLIC OFFICE.

Shonekan was a cool headed gentleman.
