LIONEL MESSI's DESIRE TO WIN THE FIFA WORLD CUP

Most people have blindly been criticising the Argentine genius since his shock move to french league leaders Paris St.German last year, and this same critics have failed to notice messi's apparent commitment and performances for Argentina in ensuring that they qualify for the World Cup as quickly as possible during the qualifying matches last year.

The former Barcelona magician who over the years have entertained us with his artistry while plying his trade in Catalonia does not deserve such criticisms especially when you take into account all the efforts he and his teammates put into ensuring that they won last years Copa america.

The argentina team and messi has certainly had their own fair share of criticisms after failing in the past with players of reasonable quality in their ranks, but lionel scaloni has been able to assemble a team which can really compete with the big sides in world football.

Messi is aware of this and that is why he believes this argentina team can really go far in Qatar 2022, and he certainly wants to be part of it by being in top shape when the Fifa Mundial kicks of at the end of the year, which certainly might be his last World Cup.

Uruguay is the 3rd best team in South America...Portugal is the 7th best team in Europe... so what happened to them in the next round ?? Besides, Portugal outplayed them that day .... did u even watch the match?? Talk about Argentina that cudnt beat any European team including Iceland in the last world cup ... Croatia that is about the 10th best team in Europe disgraced Argentina 3.0 grin... not 1 single South American team made semi final.... so in ur mind , u think Argentina will get to final grin grin with a 35 yr old messi , 34 yr old Di Maria and no Aguero ... u think say na copa America grin

Portugal will certainly not play in Qatar 2022, as they might meet the Azurri's in the 2nd round of play offs, and we all know what italy can do to any team on a very good day.

Meanwhile, this upcoming World Cup is up for grabs, no team is a favourite, as none of the big teams in Europe you would say have been so damn brilliant in terms of even their qualification to Qatar, except some that were handed easy groups.

France has been up and down with no one knowing what to expect, they are certainly not the same team that triumphed in Russia with so much confidence.

You cant rule out Italy in big tournaments, as can been seen in Euro 2020.

Belgium were in a relatively easy qualification group, but when it got to the big stage last year they flopped yet again in Euro 2020

England and their hyped players will always try but they wont be able to handle the pressure.

Which ever team is able to keep their calm and handle the pressure will win in it in Qatar, so they all have a chance at greatness.

France and Belgium teams are certainly beatable, so they should not count themselves as favourite just yet.

Honestly, I didnt think argentina would have gotten another chance at winning a copa america, especially after the setbacks in recent times, which was really frustrating.

Some people in their naive nature downgraded their triumph in Brazil last year, blindly forgetting all the criticisms they had experienced due to their earlier failures.

2022 might be their year again, anything is possible

Don't forget Portugal knocked out mancini's Italy 2 yrs ago in the nations league and chiesa who is their best outfield player is out if the season...

World Cup is a different ball game, thats when teams bring their "A" game... but the real fact is that Europe have gone past South America... those days that South America did so well in the world cup has passed ... South American players back then mostly played in South America , so the Europeans dint understand their style , but now they are familiar and again , South America has not been producing alot of top players like in the past... Uruguay Chile and Colombia ( the 3 other decent teams in South America have not produced a new start to replace suarez ,cavanni , sanchez ,vidal James cuadrado ... the only new kid in South America is vinicius Jr and martinelli.... unlike Europe that hv chiesa, haaland, mbappe , pedri, fati , leao , Renato sanchez, camavingha , kounde, saka, kimmich, de ligt, okafor , vlahovic , Mount, .... the European champions league alone produces and moulds the European younstars into shape.... if u look at the super Eagles yesterday, ud see that they played probably their best football sine the okocha kanu days .... thats because most of those players were born abd shaped in Europe

Yes you are right, European football has certainly helped alot of players in developing more, which has shown in their performances with their national teams.

Apart from Argentina and Brazil, most of the other heavyweights are struggling to qualify for Qatar.

Falcao made his move to Rayo in the Spanish la liga just to be in top form and for him to help Colombia in qualifying for Qatar.

His signing has certainly been a bargain for the la liga team

Uruguay have also been struggling in qualifiers

Honestly, the two powerhouses in South America are the only ones who can stand a chance of going far in the tournament.

Exactly.....and again ....these European nations are converting players from other continents to nationalise with countries in Europe ....jouginho is Brazilian, but plays for Italy, saka Nigerian playing for England , Rudiger Sierra Leone playing for Germany, kante , ....the best coaches in the world are Europeans ...Europe are in total control of football today
