Why won't they keep having clashes and rivalry when they don't know and won't abide by their constitutional and legal roles and duties?

Army and Police go dey clash, why?
Police and Dss and Civil defence, why?

See ehn, in my fair analysis, this is a case of missuse of power. Under what authority did the DSS and Civil defence guy arrest the BDC guy? They had no power to. Its not their duty plus its entirely a civil issue which they have no jurisdiction over even the police falls short here too. And if they exercised their power as private citizens to effect an arrest, they know better that they ought to hand the suspect over to the Police. But no, they chose to handle it themselves. This can rightly be termed kidnapping.

Until Government security agencies and agents stick to their respective constitutional roles and duties, we'll keep having these skirmishes and show of shame which in the long run breeds bad blood among the GSA and in turn undermines the security architecture.

For your information, constitutionally;
The Army and the armed forces is charged with the duty of maintaining the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country on land, sea and air.
And also to quell internal insurrection and unlawful overthrow of the constitutional government.

The Police has the widest of powers among all. They are to enforce the criminal code and other laws that may from time to time be passed and gazetted by the different tiers of government. However, overtime, some particular laws are passed which weans some functions off the Police and vests the authority to enforce those laws on specialized agencies. For example, the Police used to be in charge of exonomic fraud related issues until the efcc was formed.

The NSCDC was empowered to inter alia protect Government assets and infrastructures.

So you see, normally and ordinarily, there shouldn't be a clash among our gun totting GSAs but greed and "hustle" and also poor remuneration will make them overlap their boundaries and have clashes.

While the DSS is meant to provide security to government and political office holders and also protect the national security.

Police is just a stupid agency that doesn't know what it takes to parade suspects without enough proofs to nail the suspects. This perhaps is for pecuniary reasons.
Egunje police

All these rubbish keep happening because these Bastards on Uniform make illegal arrests always. How else do you explain arresting someone without a warrant? You did not see him at a crime scene, you did not see him breaking the law, you did not see him with a deadly weapon... yet you have the mind to tell him that he is under arrest.. Bastard illustrates. Even ordinary Civil Defence that we were fighting for make dem legalize their activities, dem don de form Force too.. Very soon, Peace Corp go start their own.. fools
This is a civil matter, just go to court but you went and arrested him, those guys should be dealt with.

Isn't there a procedure for handling things like this? Like - inform their COs AFTER picking them up for questioning.

This is why the military always have clashes with he police.
Nigerian Police enjoys disgracing other uniform personnel without first informing and handing over the culprit to his agency for disciplinary action.
Unfortunately 90% of Nigerian Police officers are criminals
That is why we are having problem in Nigeria, which law or chapter of Nigeria constitution that says they should be informed before arrest them? These are criminals.

There is no battle of supremacy.

All of them are armed law enforcement personnel.

Na who first press trigger be the superior in all circumstances. That's why Unknown Gunmen could be superior sometimes. It is the gun not the uniform.
