The Delta state police commander have released a statement regarding the church building that collapsed in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.

The police command in a statement debunked the report that 10 persons died in the tragedy that Salvation Ministries.

The police said only three persons died in the collapse. The deceased victims included two female children and a woman.

The police statement also added that 18 people were rescued, four persons are discharged from the hospital and 11 are still receiving treatment.

The statement said:

Rescue Operation is over, 18 person rescued initially, four person’s discharged, 11 person’s still receiving treatment, three deaths recorded which includes two female children and one woman, their names unknown for now, kindly debunk the rumours making rounds that ten people died, that’s not correct
