Fayinka Mourns Former Oyo State Governor, Alao Akala

The Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Hon. Toyin Fayinka, has mourned former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Alao Christopher Akala, who died on Wednesday at the age of 71.

Fayinka, in a condolence message by his Imole Media Team, commiserated with Otunba Akala’s family, the great people of Ogbomoso land and the State entirely.

The Special Adviser said the death of Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otunba Alao Akala, who he described as an astute politician, was a great loss to the country.

“Late Akala left his imprints as a leader who transformed and breathed more life into the key cities of Oyo State thereby making social amenities accessible to long neglected villages. His term as Executive Governor brought about a paradigm shift and significant legacy that encouraged a level playing ground that has continue to spring up leaders from various parts of the state.

“He will be remembered for his welfarism and populism philosophies in even distribution of appointments and developmental projects across the zones in Oyo State.

“Late Akala was an achiever, a unifying force within the APC. He was a grassroot man per excellence, very simple and generous person. He was a rallying point. The vacuum is just huge and huge indeed.

”His contribution to the growth and development of democracy in Nigeria cannot be forgotten,” the message read.

Fayinka prayed for the sweet repose of the soul of Alao Akala and for his loved ones the fortitude to bear his loss.
