There are millions of working people around the world who think their work is monotonous and very boring. Given the opportunity, they would jump to 'greener pastures' immediately.

But have you been in a job so dull, repetitious, and boring that you felt you were entitled to compensation?

One man sued his employer for his boring job and walked away with €40,000. We're not kidding.

In 2016, Frederic Desnard filed a lawsuit against Interparfums, a perfume, and cosmetics company, for being "bored out" of his $90,000 a year job, said reports. He demanded more than $4,00,000 in compensation.

Four years on, he actually won the case and was awarded €40,000 in damages from Interparfums.

Desnard had alleged that in 2014 his employer demoted and sidelined him from a high-profile position in a bid to convince him to resign voluntarily.

After the change in profile, Desnard was only 'running errands for the president' of Interparfums. He was later fired after being on sick leave for seven months due to a car accident.

At the time, his lawyer Montasser Charni claimed that 'bore out' caused him to have an epileptic fit while driving, which led to the accident.

"I no longer had the energy for anything. I felt guilty and ashamed to earn a salary for nothing. I had the impression I was invisible at the company," Desnard was quoted as saying by Le Monde.

According to a report by The Telegraph, Desnard's lawyer told a tribunal that there was a link between his client's health deterioration and his work.

After Desnard lodged a complaint at a labour relations tribunal, the court agreed that  ‘bore out’ constituted a ‘form of harassment’ and decided to award him compensation.

The ruling was upheld by The Paris Appeal Court even after lawyers for Interparfums said that Desnard had never mentioned anything about being bored in his four-year period.

This can never happen in the continent where a referee ended an international match at 85 minutes.
