Leicester City ace Youri Tielemans has been linked with a move to Arsenal, who are currently short of midfield options.

According to Goal, Mikel Arteta's side are interested in bringing Tielemans to north London and have held talks with the talented midfielder's agent regarding a possible move.

The report also claims that it is unlikely that he will leave the Foxes in the January transfer window and is expected to stay at the King Power Stadium until the end of the current campaign.

It is also claimed that the Gunners believe they could offer Tielemans - who has less than 18 months left on his current contract with Leicester - an attractive proposal, especially if they can qualify for next season's Champions League.

Tielemans has previously been named as a potential target for Arsenal and actually has admitted that he turned down a move to the Emirates Stadium back in 2017, claiming that he wouldn't have played regularly enough - choosing to join Monaco instead.

Speaking about the north Londoners' interest in his services, Tielemans said: "I knew not much was going to change with Arsenal’s squad.

Their management wanted to keep the same group of players together in order to finish high in the Premier League.
I had to be honest with myself and take a look at the midfielders Arsenal have got. They are top-class players.

“I knew that I would not get many first-team chances with them, so I didn’t give any more thought to joining them. I never said no to any club. But I made it clear where I wanted to go.”
