Firstly, what do we mean by farmers league? This parlance is used to describe when a particular team dominates a league, over a number of seasons... Fir instance, a team winning the league twice or three times in a row, or over 3 out of 4, 4 our of 5 etc...

Has EPL always been a farmers league, or has the epl always been overrated? Has a team dominated the league for a number of seasons?

Let's take a look...

1. Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United has dominated the league by winning it three seasons on a row. And this it has done on 3 different occasions.


2. Chelsea under Jose Mourinho

Chelsea won the league 2 seasons on a row, breaking records with other teams playing catch up. Mourinho left the league, came back again and won the league with Chelsea


3. ManchesterCity under Pep Guardiola

Manchester City has won the league, 3 times out of a possible 5, now almost on the Verge of winning 4 out of 6. This is another dominance with a different style, and breaking records along the way... I remember we all said Pep won't be able to do it in the EPL.... Now it seems Man city has won the league before it starts.


However some can argue that, the reason why EPL is not a farmers league, is that after winning for 2 consecutive seasons, another team must come out and win to break the streak, except for Ferguson's Man utd who did 3 seasons straight.... and that other leagues, a team can do 5 seasons straight e.g Laliga Ligue1, Serie A, Eredivisie etc.... and as well we can say UCL is a farmer's league to Real Madrid

m happy dt pep promised to leave after his contract next year, at least we would see other different teams winning d EPL n dey would all be free from d shackles of pep domination..
if pep decides to stay 5 more seasons, its 5 years of trouble for all clubs n dts wickedness..

Number of point between winners and runner ups.

The number of unbeaten runs in the league.

The dominance of a team in term of league wins.

The number of points with which the wínners win the league.

The caliber of best players in the league against other in the world best player rating.

Considering all these, premier league is officially a farmer's league.

I mean unpredictability in match games n even making the top4, dts why bets company do cash out d more in EPL fixtures..
the top4 we have right now wont be the same wen d season ends n same way for relegation candidates.
EPL gat alot of drama each week unlike spain n italy dt i can easily Gv u 6 teams dt "must" make d top4 n would win or draw each week

Before Pep Guadiola came all EPL Club supporters were running mouth that EPL is the best league and that no club can dominant the league just as Barcelona, Buyern Munich, Juventus are doing in their various league and I told them that it depends on the Coach, money spent and the good players bought dey were all arguing But since Guardiola came we all see what happened to EPL.. Winning straight 11 matches in a row.. Winning all England's 5 cup's in one year.. He did it in Barcelona and England fan boys were saying it was because Spain teams were to weak to compete with him.. So what should we say about Chelsea, Liverpool, Man United, Arsenal, Totheham and Other English Teams now..

Take a look at ligue one, how many teams are strong enough to be called a UCL quarter final candidate or Europa semi finalist?
EPL is not the case.

EPL is a farmers league, from the beginning of the season we already know the winner, it wasn't up till January before Man city started running away with the title...

Aside that, let's all agree Man u is a much worse club than Arsenal.

Almost every league have at least 3 in a row winners in Europe.

Madrid won UCL 3 in a row and Bayern Munich made UCL a joke by winning it on a winning streak, had several matches with aggregate consisting of 10+ goals and goal difference (group stage till finish) higher than the number of teams that participated in group stage.

Yeah some will call Bundesliga a farmer's league...
