Baba Aji Mamman had foreboding about his life hereafter while he was sick. Then he decided to set his fate in order.

Before his death on March 28th, 2020, he instructed his family to calculate the salaries paid to him for the days he wasn’t at work, and refund the money to the Yobe Rural Electrification Board.

So when he died, the family calculated the unearned salaries for 11 years, adding up to N11 million.

In an advertorial published by the family in the Daily Trust Thursday, the family explained how their father, old and sickly, worked as a staffer of the board for 11 years, calling in sick as many as three days a week.

He was, however, sorry for collecting salaries for the work he could not do for those years. And he ordered them to apologize and refund the salaries to the state.

Better late than never. The two things greater than money are family and peace of mind. They are wealth on their own. So, Tinubu, you nko? Diezani, what are you waiting for?

That's fine if he's a rich man, but if he's not then it's unfair to his family

There's no peace of mind in hell.
For 11yrs he was collecting salaries without working for it, while depriving the jobless younger generation of opportunities to fill in his position. That is wickedness.

Your counterquote is judgmental. And did you read the story well? He simply restituted the sum of money for the 2 to 3 days in week for 11years he didn't work for due to his health. That's not outright stealing, neither is it iniquitous. That was lack of integrity(low input earning). But now, he has acknowledged his disintegrity and has decided to right his wrong before he sets sail to meet his maker. That's the best way to seek forgiveness. Also, Buhari was right about the Nigerian youths. 90% of them are lazy. If the government can't create enough job for her youths, the youths should get their lazy ass and create jobs for themselves.

The hypocritic nature of Nigerian youth on display. You'd likely, no! You'd definitely do worse if you were in his shoes. So don't judge him. He reclaimed his integrity before he passed on. Like a great philosopher would say, 'He with a sin shouldn't cast the stone.'
I can see why it's very easy for politicians and public servants to steal so much from you and still end up getting your votes and praises.
