Esteban Obiang’s 70th-minute goal was all Equatorial Guinea need to end reigning champions Algeria’s 35-game unbeaten streak. Algeria are likely on their way out of the tournament should they lose their final group match against Ivory Coast. The 2019 Cup of Nations winners could only draw 0-0 with Sierra Leone in their opening game in Cameroon and lost 1-0 to Equatorial Guinea on Sunday. Meanwhile an Equatorial Guinea side ranked 114th in the world and 28th in Africa are now well placed to reach the knockout stages for the third time. https://thequesttimes.com/114th-ranked-equatorial-guinea-end-reigning-champions-algerias-unbeaten-streak/

paulolee: Since 1989 or the last 14 tournaments only 2 times did Brazil or Argentina fail to reach the final ... out of the last 14 tournaments, Brazil or Argentina have won 9 of which the the other 3 was lost due to penaltyshoot out , meaning that they were not beaten in open play in the final in the past 14 tournaments... Brazil and Argentina have appeared in the final 16 Times in the last 14 tournaments... copa has had 5 different winners and 9 different finalist in the last 14 tournaments from 1989-2021 While Afcon have had 6 different winners in the last 6 tournaments with only Ghana and ivory Coast appearing 2 times within that period they have had 10 different finalists In the Afcon , they have had 8 different winners in the last 14 tournaments and 13 different finalists in that same period from 1994- 2019 ... 1 Like

Kingcalls: CONMEBOL (the football federation for South America) has only 10 member countries. 9 different finalist means 90% of member countries have been in the final at least once in the specified time frame. 5 different winners showed 50% of member countries have won the tournament in the time frame you used. You can't say the same for the other tournaments you're comparing with, where over 50% of member countries can't even boast of ever being in the final - since their inception. Apart from that, members of CONMEBOL have won the world cup 9 times, meanwhile, CAF have never produced a semi - finalist, and this shows the quality of teams in the continent. Stop allowing your hatred of Messi to make you spew trash. The world doesn't revolve around Messi or Ronaldo. They don't even know you exist. |

Ayemileto: U still ended up qualifying copa as a dead tournament... imagine a tournament of just 10 teams ...that alone makes it very weak.... its no different from comparing the Scottish league of 12 teams to the EPL of 20 teams... as long as its just 10 teams , then its not competitive |
Re: 114th Ranked Equatorial Guinea End Reigning Champions Algeria’s Unbeaten Streak by Ayemileto(m): 4:51pm On Jan 17, 2022 |
Kingcalls: SMH for you. Going by this logic, the Euro is not more competitive than AFC Asia cup and AFCON, because it's 24 teams that equally participate in the three tournaments. That also means the FIFA confederations cup was never competitive at any point, because prior to swapping it for the club world cup in 2019, only 8 teams usually participate. Also, going by your logic, it's safe to say World Cup is not a competitive tournament, because South American teams have won 9 out of the 21 tournaments. And yes, they have been in lots of Finals. Funny guy. |

Ayemileto: Help urself intelligently.... confederations cup is not competitive cis uts just 8 teams.... competition depends on the number of teams involved....to make it worse, only 5 teams are capable in the whole of South America |

Kingcalls: Yeah, just the way Euro is not competitive that Asia Cup. |
