The Umbrella body of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has regretfully announced the death of one its member Emmanuel Leweh, who until his death was the Chairman, Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.

In a heartfelt condolence message via a teleconferencing between the ALGON National President, Hon. Alabi Kolade David, the National Publicity Secretary Hon. Solomon Onah and the National Treasurer Hon Bappa; they all expressed deep regrets at the sudden slump leading to the death of the Chairman in his Council Secretariat at Akwanga.

Narrating the ordeal, the Deputy National President of ALGON Hon. Maifata Aminu Muazu who is also from Nasarawa state stated that the diseased colleague was reportedly having a meeting with his council members at the council Secretariat in Akwanga where the Council Secretariat is headquartered on Monday when he slumped shortly after the meeting.

According to him, the entire Council has been thrown into mourning over the passage of Leweh who had just spent three months in office. He was rushed to a private hospital in Abuja and was said to have died in Abuja on Thursday.
