The list of probable ministerial nominees for the federal cabinet is taking shape as President Goodluck Jonathan has submitted about 20 names to the Department of State Security Service for screening. Their names would then be forwarded to the senate for confirmation only if they scale through security scrutiny.

Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Haliru Bello – Kebbi State
The party’s national secretary, Alhaji Kawu Baraje – Kwara State
Former Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Festus Odimegwu – Imo State
Sprinter and Former African and Olympic medalist, Mrs. Mary Onyali-Omagbemi – Anambra State
Architect Michael Onolemhehe – Edo State
Alhaji Bukkar Tijjani – Borno State
Managing Director of the World Bank, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala - Abia State
Former Minister of Finance, Dr. Olusegun Aganga - Lagos State
Dr. Mariam Ali (wife of former PDP Chairman, Ahmadu Alli) – Delta State
Dr. Cairo Ojougboh - Delta State
Former Minister of the Niger Delta Mr. Godsday Orubebe – (Delta State) south-south geo-political zone
Former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke - Bayelsa State
Former Minister for the Federal Capital Territory - Senator Bala Mohammed
Former Minister of State of FCT - Navy Captain Caleb Olubo-lade (rtd)
Former Minister of Defence, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode
Former Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqqayatu Rufa’i
Former Minister of Labour, Chief Emeka Wogu
Former Health Minister, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu
Former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke


So far, Jonathan has sent an estimated 20 names as nominees for security clearance.
