Federal Executive Council Pegs New Fuel Price(PMS) At N302 Per Liter - A Place for News

While Nigerians are still struggling to cope with the economic hardship in the country, there are reports that the National Executive Council has pegged the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at N302 per liter.

A source hints that the decision was reached at the NEC meeting, on Wednesday.

We also gathered that the new pump price will be implemented from February, this year and will most likely draw flare nerves from stakeholders, especially the organised labour which is already planning a January 27 protest against plans by the government to remove petrol subsidy entirely.

At this new price, they will still pay subsidy just so they can say they are doing something for Nigerians.

Hmmm. Price may end up between N260 - N270 / litre following protests/agitations and negotiations with labour unions.

But the 'subsidy' would still be in place.

So Nigerians should expect a further rise in cost of products and services across the Country.

We Nigerians dey take rubbish sha

In some other countries, they will demand is either GMB leave the fuel price the way it is or he should resign... Is not compulsory.

I think we really need to change our system of Government.

If truly they want to remove subsidy, then they can't "peg" pump price. The market and price of crude in the international market should determine the pump price.

Unless it's partial removal of subsidy which is an avenue for continued looting in the system.

It is either full deregulation or no deregulation!!!
