Magodo Estate Invasion: Reps Summon IGP, Malami by Mazulu: 7:53am On Jan 20, 2022
The House of Representatives has determined that the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami and Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba will be probed over their alleged involvement in the invasion of Magodo Estate by policemen.

The matter was reported to the house by Ademorin Kuye and Rotimi Agunsoye, both of whom are lawmakers representing Lagos.

Recall that Governor Sanwo-Olu was at the estate a few days ago to talk to the police to move away from there and they refused–in the full glare of the public.

According to Kuye,:

“Several attempts have been made by the Lagos state government from 2012 to 2015 to settle the matter amicably, making different engagements, with the judgement creditors presenting a proposal for reallocation in the Magodo Residential Scheme within the Badagry area of the state which some of them accepted.

“The Lagos state government again in 2016 initiated a settlement to reallocate Ibeju Lekki Coastal Scheme located in the Ibeju Lekki area, but this was rejected by the lead plaintiff, chief Adebayo Adeyiga, as the government continues to dialogue with the majority of the judgement creditors to reach a consensus towards implementing the judgement.

“Despite the ongoing settlement efforts and the pendency of an interlocutory injunction dated December 1, 2020, before the court of appeal seeking an order restraining him and his agents, chief Adeyiga, purportedly encouraged by the attorney-general of the federation and the inspector-general of police, stormed the estate with unknown bailiffs and armed security operatives to execute a judgement that was purportedly delivered by Lagos High Court.

“The execution being presently executed through the office of the AGF with the connivance of the IGP is illegal, as only the Lagos state deputy sheriff can execute same [sic] and not thugs aided by policemen.”

It remains to be seen if they will honour the invitation.

Very stupid summoning.

I see Tinubu hand in this, just like he wanted to smuggle in Direct Primaries through same NASS.

I can’t because I don’t like Malami and not stand with him when he is right.

Supreme Court took Imolite mandate that they willingly bestowed on Ihedioha and gave to Uzodimma, and stupid NASS didn’t invite IGP and Malami.

Supreme Court took Bayelsa from APC and gave to PDP and NASS did not invite anybody.

Supreme agreed with INEC that APC didn’t have valid primaries in Zamfara in 2019 and NASS didn’t invite anybody.

Since 2015, APC has not been able to field candidates in Rivers through Supreme Court judgments and NASS didn’t invite anybody.

Now same Supreme Court gave judgment about some piece of land dubiously taken from its owners through executive rascality and NASS is inviting IGP and Malami for enforcing the Judgment of the Supreme Court?

Questioning the enforcement of the judgment of the Supreme Court is the new low that Nigeria should not descend. Even if the judgment was in error, it must be enforced to the latter and NASS has no fvccking business with that.

Ndi ala!

It's baffles me how the Lagos state government is trying to dribble it's way pass a judgement given from state to the supreme court yet the state blantantly refuse to adhere to the judgement because they feel they are untouchable, if the situation is reverse would they be negotiating with the landlords

Honor what? Supreme Court has ruled, the order must be executed. Nonsense, the people that lost in the Supreme Court are ordering officials empowered to execute the judgement should come to their office to explain what to them?

Let them go & read the Supreme Court’s judgement properly, we owe you no explanation. Land Criminals.

What would they honour? There was a supreme court judgement which police and AGF wanted to enforce, inviting them is arrant nonsense.... Reps should not be taken serious.

With due respect, you are wrong on this sir. Malami and IGP don't have right to invade any State without informing the number citizen of that state(Governor) It was when all efforts has been exhausted, that they will inform the same court, to order Mr governor to execute or appeal the judgement not taking laws in their hands. We are in democratic domain not autocrat.

In as much as I understand the plight of lagos state government in trying to manage the emotion of people staying in magodo, it is in the right of the IG to order the implementation of a supreme Court judgment.

I am sure the summon will not be obeyed.

It irks me when people try to sound smart and ended sounding silly.

IGP don't have right to implement a supreme court judgement? And must inform the governor before implementing a supreme Court judgement... are you kidding me. Please if you are not informed kindly do research and read.

Again you said the governor should appeal a supreme court judgement how na.
And the governor should execute? When has governor turned to executor of court judgement let alone the one he is a party to.

Men this is just too much for me to bear. I am having headache already due to the level of cocky ignorance.
