The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play a two-legged tie with the black stars of Ghana in the World Cup playoffs in March.

Nigeria and nine(9) other African countries are in the race for the continent’s five slots at this year’s Mundial.

Nigeria made it to the playoff stage having finished top of their group ahead of Cape Verde, the Central African Republic and Lesotho.

The Super Eagles have qualified for all but one of the subsequent editions, having made her debut at the USA 1994 World Cup

If the three(3)-time African champions make it to Qatar’s edition, it would be their seventh outing at the biggest footballing event in the world.

The Black Stars defeated South Africa 1-0 to progress to the play-off round of the qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The black stars secured qualification to this final round of the qualifiers by coming top of Group G in the second round of the qualification series, just placing above South Africa.

In the controversial game against South Africa, a first-half Andre Ayew penalty ensured a 1-0 home triumph for the Black Stars, putting them above South Africa on better scoring record.

The super Eagles will be going into the fixture as clear favorites judging from their brilliant exhibition at the ongoing African Cup of Nations. But judging from past records between the two Nations, this fixture could be termed as the Classico of African football. Expect Fireworks.
