2023 Presidency: Tinubu Considered Regional Politician, An Ethnic Bigot

Tinubu has money, he has structures and loyalists, but he is also seen by many as a regional politician, not a national politician.

Southeast (Igbo) will never support him nor vote for him especially now that they feel it's their turn to produce the next president.

South south too won't support him because south south is PDP and PDP is south south.

As for his region, he may not get more than 50 percent of their votes, they don't put all of their eggs in one basket. They are with you and they are not with you because they are with your opponent and they are not with him.

As for the north, northwest may not fully support him because they naturally don't trust Yoruba people.

Tinubu is seen by many as a man "playing God", he wants everyone to bow to him, and that's exactly what the Bukola Sarakis, Rotimi Ameachis, Rotimi Akeredelus, Atiku Bagudus, Yahaya Bello, Elrufai and many others won't do.

Remember how they forced oshiomole out of his position, remember how they supported PDP candidate against their own APC candidate in Edo election just to humiliate Tinubu. And they had their way. They prefer their party lose than allow Tinubu's anointed candidate win.

Remember how some APC bigwigs were ready to pull the roof down on everyone rather than allow Tinubu have his way during the crisis that almost brought APC to it's knees.

Tinubu has money and as it stands, he has better chances of winning the APC primaries than anyone else, but he will face a lot of resistance from governors and bigwigs who will never accept or agree to be his boys. The best they can agree on is to be his associates... Moreover, his age and health status is a big issue too.

Even if they find a way to resolve and support Tinubu, he will have serious problem choosing a running mate. If he picks a northern Muslim, it will be Muslim-Muslim ticket, a very big minus for him because a lot of christians won't vote for him because they are not properly represented. If he picks a northern christian or someone from the north central or a minority group, he might lose the support of northwest, and no smart politician would want to lose Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Zamfara, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto and even Bauchi by extension. And because Tinubu's wife is a Christian, picking a Christian as his running mate automatically translate to having a president and a vice president who might not protect the interest of Muslims, just like a Muslim-muslim ticked that christians will think that the presidency won't protect their interest.

And politics is about interest. Perception matters a lot in politics. Especially our politics that sentiment plays a major role in our decision to choose leaders.

We want a detribalised Nationalist devoid of any sort of ethnic bigotry come 2023. I think APC led Government should be looking at South East to pick her president

Buhari was worse yet he became president even against south east support. It's just destiny and grace.

The way Tinubu urchins are focusing on igbos shows they are myopic. Tinubu will fail in SW. The north is already dumping him. Yorubas must grow up in national politics. Stop seeing it as we vs igbos

A BETRAYER. A CRIMINAL AND ALLEGED MURDERER

Some people also made Asiwaju Bola Ahmed & he equally stab many (if not all) at the back. In 1998, when Asiwaju came back from his self imposed political asylum, he had no single political structure to win a local government election in Lagos State (not minding how he was elected to the Senate in 1992/3). It was the Afenifere group led by Baba Abraham Adesanya & Chief Bola Ige who fought tooth & nail to impose Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the AD candidate in January 1999 governorship election.
The Afenifere had threatened Eng. Funsho Williams to surrender his mandate (he won the primary & defeated Tinubu three times) & declare his support for Bola Tinubu.

During the election campaign between Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dapo Sarumi, both Baba Abraham Adesanya & Chief Bola Ige practically left Ijebu Igbo and Ibadan respectively to lead the campaign for Tinubu in Lagos, while Eng. Funsho Williams provided the financial muscles and marshal his unity group led by Kemi Nelson & others to ensure Tinubu's victory at the poll.

What happened after he became the governor of Lagos is known to all. Among which was his betrayer of Chief Bola Ige in his aspiration for the presidency of Nigeria (the event at De Rovans Hotel in Ibadan is well recorded).
He also made sure he used his influence as the governor to muscle & destroy the Afenifere group; abuse Baba Abraham opening & remove his deputy Akerele Buknor who was a staunch member of Afenifere.

Bola Tinubu also dealt with Funsho Williams, he made sure cornered the loyalty of his (Funsho"s loyalists) & completely sidelined & ostracized him.

Tinubu will surely betray the north.

Tinubu and his Yoruba people are on a long thing

...all this from the op are factors .. but the truth is that nobody is voting any Yoruba man to power in 2023

Reason why all the Tinubu and osibanjo noise remains in Yoruba land

No other region is buying the Yoruba project

Campaign and noise is on Nairaland.. Yoruba people think 2023 elections is their southwest kingship tussle.
