Nigeria's First Lady, Aisha Buhari has demanded the public execution of school proprietor, Abdulmalik Muhammad Tanko, who kidnapped and murdered a pupil under his care, Hanifa Abubakar.

Tanko, who is proprietor of Noble Kids Comprehensive College, Kwanan Dakata in Kano has confessed to kidnapping and subsequently the killing of the minor with a rat poison.

The First Lady took to her verified Instagram page, to express support for a call by a popular Kano-based Islamic cleric, Mallam Abdalla Gadon Kaya, who called for Tanko's public execution.

"We are behind mallam's stance", Aisha Buhari wrote.

In viral video, Gadon Kaya had charged President Muhammadu Buhari and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, to have “Tanko killed the same way he killed Hanifa.”

Gadon Kaya further that Tanko's life not better than that of the minor, as such he should be executed publicly.

Also private school proprietors have called for the prosecution of their killer colleague.

There has been widespread outrage over Hanifa's murder, with #JusticeForHanifa trending on the social media for days.

Hanifa Abubakar was kidnapped on December 4, 2021, and murdered two weeks later; her body was dismembered and buried on her former school's premises.

Tanko was arrested by the police while trying to collect the N6million ransom he demanded from little Hanifa's parents.

Aisha Buhari "demands" That's a very powerful word. Now, under what authority is she making such a demand ? If the masses are baying for blood, is someone like her supposed to bay like she's unenlightened ? Whether that man has confessed or not, he still has his day in court first of all, after the case against him has been proven by the prosecutor beyond reasonable doubt, the sitting judge will find him guilty and sentence him to be hanged by the neck until he dies, such a sentence is carried out within the confines of the prison. If this woman innocently uses her influence (people looking for favour from madam might stupidly decide to give the man a public execution) to get the principal killed publicly, how next will she and others in authority be able to assuage the resultant blood lust that will ensue amongst the masses who might decide to go after any perceived criminal in their midst, meteing out instant jungle justice after all, mummy wa supports it.

Madam should sit this one out and let justice take its definite course, I know we're all angry but we shouldn't turn to barbarians because of that anger
