Today's reading has key lessons for everyone of us. How many of us have disqualified people that God has qualified by grace due to their formal educational qualification? Do we preach Jesus but never learn from Him? Left to us, how many of these twelve would we have considered qualified for recruitment: the four uneducated ordinary fishermen (Acts 4:13b), Matthew - a tax collector or 'sinner', Simon a political activist e t c. We are equally not qualified to be called by our Lord. We are chosen by grace alone!
