Many buildings, lock up shops and the zenith bank building at the obodo ukwu axis of onitsha relief market were in the early hours of yesterday razed by an inferno.

It was learnt that the fire started when a tanker Laden with a liquid suspected to be premium motor spirit (PMS) tipped over and spilled it's content. This is unconnected to the deplorable state of onitsha - owerri expressway which has been a death trap to motorists, heavy and articulated vehicles especially.

Our prayers are with the landlords of the razed buildings and shop owners whom are likely not under any insurance.
