GYB’s personality, ideology, judgment, dealings, positions and honesty, all centers around humanity; his “core” is that, the future and wellbeing of all Nigerians and generations yet unborn is far above any political conspiracy and consideration. Which makes his position firm to stand and speak the truth that will affirm his core, and damn any consequences.

Most recent example, otherwise the issue of political conspiracy, when the global players, with 3.5 trillion “support funds” in play, went into a frenzy, GYB bravely stood his ground alone and unwavering, in his decision to not jump on the unfounded bandwagon and play politics with the lives of his people, despite the multitude of national and international pressures from those he respects and organizations he belongs to.

COVID-19
No amount of words can best describe the gravity of mismanagement of the global pandemic; Covid -19, in Nigeria by a majority of the leaders. The mishandling and unaccountability of Covid19 funds of 3.5 trillion naira, as well as unfounded decisions made by other respected leaders, led to increase in insecurity in most parts of the country.

LOCKDOWN ERA
Since the era of massive lockdowns, the Insecurity rate of the country has increased vastly, with the record of casualties hitting 10,400 in 2021 as against 4,556 and 3,188 of 2020 and 2019 respectively.

These are more than just numbers, these are lives of Nigerians that have been lost, which has led thousands of families to despair and destitute. So far, there have been more casualties from insecurity as a repercussion of covid-19 rush than there are recorded deaths from covid-19, which stands at 3058 as at 2022.

One cannot presume that the numbers simply increased for any other reason other than the consequences of our response to the pandemic as a nation. This is evidently proven by the records of Kogi state. While the state of insecurity increased in other regions of the country, Kogi maintained a state of tranquility.

THE COVID-19 FUNDS
While other leaders did what they did with 3.5 trillion-naira Covid19 funds even though, a sum of 402.97 billion naira was the budget for insecurity in 2020 and 2021, GYB bravely stood his ground alone, unwavering, in his decision to not jump on the unfounded bandwagon and play politics with the lives of his people, despite the multitude of national and international pressures from those he respects and organizations he belongs to.

His wisdom and bravery in dealing with the situation according to the peculiarity of the people which was widely criticized and ignored like a prophet’s message in his home, turned out to be the wisest decision only heeded by few. The year 2020 and 2021 wouldn’t have been so red if only the nation listened to Yahaya Bello.

Yahaya Bello has proven beyond reasonable doubt to be someone who sees the odd angle in the way things are run and goes ahead to physically change it for the better. He is brave enough to damn the consequences of doing what he believes is right.

More lives should not have to be lost for us to realize who should be supported.
