hitv launches today 1st august, all over nigeria.its  a thing of choice-
why hitv?
the following companies, DSTV, AIT, NTA and HITV have been given right to air the controversial premiership. The question is who rules among them? BON and OSMI have bought the right to air 1 match a week therefore the host of AIT and NTA can show 1 match a wk. DSTV has grade B right which permit  them to show 2 out of 10 matches a week . The king of the jungle in this regards is HITV. This new pay tv has right to air 8 matches in a wk. BON and OSMI -NTA, AIT are permitted to air 1 match on every monday while DSTV shows theirs on saturday sunday. how many channels HiTv get wey d'em wan show 8 matches. . . the last time i checked, they had only HiSport and FoxSport. . . they keep advertising HiSport5 and HiSport6, i neva take eye see d'em d'ose wans since w'en i d'ey watch d'em. . . .

d'em sey d'em go put ESPN 4 d bouquet, i neva see d'ose wans. . . . d'em d'ey advertise sey LCI and ART5 follow 4 d whole setting but i don search tire i neva see d'em.

Seems HITV would give us value for our money, since DSTV is not intrested in any price reduction for now. They have been losing customers of late.

How true is the story that HITV expects one to pay 48K for a year subsrciption, while you are given their decoder, dish with all the accessories free(GOOD BUSINESS SENSE).

Give us full details as they finally launch their satellite euqipment today.

the satelite service was only launched yesterday, so any new and upto date information will be realted to you immediately. Yes the package goes for 48k rightly.
one step at a time please understand, the engineers are working tirelessly to meet up. dstv did not get  to where they are in a day.

Wow!!! Wot a shocker. I just got a newsletter from multichoice. They are going to show only 20% of the English premiership this season.I think i am going to have to get hitv. I just hope they can meet up to standard because this wont be the best time to have teething problems o!!!

well. . . looks like there's some gist about HiTV that lots of folks ain't getting to hear;

heard recently that there are 2 different HiTV packages on offer. . . . one for 3k or thereabouts - this package is something akin to the DsTV select. . . . The other is 4k or thereabouts and this is the full dose!

The early set of HiTV suscribers mostly have the 3k package and gist is, with that you might not get to watch a lot of the football matches c'uz you won't have HiSport 1,2,3 and HiSoccer etc

I'll check out HiTV office tomorrow to authenticate. . . . .

Thanks for the update. The guy that open this thread, who is supposed to give us daily update about the whole thing is not forthcoming again.

Confrimed from DSTV office also this morning that they are only allowed to show matches through Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool TV, which I learnt are delayed. Arsenal matches are not listed at all(am a GUNNER).

Dont think so, just called their customer care and was told that the hisport1, 2 and hisoccer would appear before the end of 2mrw, but at the expiration of ur subscription u might need to pay 4k monthly subscription to av access to it, na waoo, knew there might still be further increament, well, aint gat no choice as it's certain they would be showing the matches, let wait until 2mrw, would keep u guys posted,

i've just checked mine and saw LBC and ART movies but those stations are not showing anything as yet. . . they'd said they'd add ESPN and Sky News too but no show, so i'm really concerned. . .

I'm surprised that they can actually update the stations automatically from their end but i feel there's something else that needs to be done to activate 'em. . . if they do add HiSport 1,2,3 by Fri. night like they say, then i don't think we'll watch those premiership matches on 'em c'uz it'd take days for the stations to start showing stuff as in the case of LBC and ART movies i mentioned above; they've been added for like a week now!

meanwhile a source from within said that suscribers would have to pay 4k like i'd said earlier. . . anyhow sha i go check 'em out tomorrow!

been with HiTV 4 like 3/4 months now. . . . ur LBC/ART are showing ?

went to their office at Ebutte-Metta this morning and was told that they've got some issues with the NBC over ART/LBC so the stations are currently not showing anything but they've been downloaded onto suscribers decoders!
As for HiSport 1,2,3 they're g'onna downloaded tonight or so they say. . . . me, i'm still very sceptical about the whole thing - i just hope they're for real!

4k subscription fee starts taking effect from next month. . . if u pay now, u're g'onna pay 3k!
