The role of delegates in a political party system cannot be overemphasized.

The delegates are the decision makers in the internal politics of a political party.

The delegates are the persons who nominate and produce candidates for political parties.

It is the candidates that the delegates produce that are presented to electorates.

The electorates are not the direct chain of production of party candidates.

On this premise,the monetization of the political process has necessitated the need to sensitize delegates as the integral part of the process.

If delegates takes the role of tax collectors, moneybags get the nod to represent the people.

As we enter into another electoral season,I call on delegates not to factor money as a basis of their support,they should not be swayed by the entrant of emergency " moneybags" politicians whose sole aim is to boost their ego.

The delegates should factor the consistent accessibility of the aspirants how they have related with the people out of the seasons of elections,not the sudden toasting and friendship for patronage.

If the delegates sellout we are left to choose the persons presented as candidates of the political parties.If the delegates sell their votes the best cannot represent us.

The result of delegates monetization is that it pushes out the power to collectively bargain for development.

The delegates are the jury in the political party system,it is what they present to the judge(electorates) will make judgement on.

The delegates should rise above financial inducement and look at the greater good of our community,they should see the opportunity of being delegates as a means for community development not for self gratification.

The decision made by the delegates is what will make or mar development in the next four years.

The delegates should ensure that only best candidates are presented to electorates using the indices of accessibility,track records of leadership and development.

The choice of the delegates in the candidates for the political parties is the key to accessing the dividends of democracy.
