57th Birthday: CONGRATULATIONS TO A PACESETTING GOVERNOR

I use this medium to congratulate the real and ideal friend of the masses and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi on his 57th birthday.

At 57, you have proved without modicum of misgiving that you are one leader that is distinguishable in character, brilliance, and passion.

You are a leader that has passion and pencaht for selfless services. A leader with Midas touch and vision to turn things around. A leader with thirst for excellence. A leader with burning zeal to bring the people together, thereby engendering participatory governance that had made Ekiti a pacesetter in the practice of democracy to drive development.

The best indelible legacy a leader can leave behind has been to be builder of men. The late sage,Chief Obafemi Awolowo built so many generations ahead of him through quality education. Governor Kayode Fayemi had been deploying education, politics, and administration, to build people and make them relevant in the scheme of things.

Most heartwarming was how he had been motivating young Ekitis through appointments, empowerments, and recognition in the running of government.

Since 2010 when he forayed into Ekiti politics, he had raced the bar and up the ante. The culture of beggary and pedestrian politics under the facade of stomach Infrastructure had been tackled and banished.

With your astute administrative acumen, you have injected participatory governance to the extent that every stratum of Ekiti now understands how governance is run and directed.

Some of our farmers, traders, Okada riders etc are now critics and advisers of government because they understand the policy direction and politics surrounding them.

Without mincing words, by your commitment and competence, he had shown that something good can still come out of our Jerusalem, because your coming was like a soothing balm owing to pervasive disillusionment and despondency that had taken over the land before you came like a Northern Star offering hope and salvaging the horrible situation.

Governor Fayemi had etched his name in gold by scoring many firsts as an administrator from Ekiti extraction. He was the first former civilian governor of Ekiti to be appointed as Minister by any President since the advent of democracy in 1999.

Under your Sterling leadership, Ekiti was the first State to sign Social Security Scheme policy into law, where elderstatesmen and women received N5,000 monthly stipend to palliate their sufferings and rescue them from untimely deaths, squalor and wanton poverty.

It was under him and through the instrumentality of the first lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, that Ekiti got the first Food Bank, Village Kitchens and one computer -per- students and teachers, which has become a template being adopted by other states.

My boss and friend , in case you are not aware of this, you are really a blessing to Ekiti and this generation.

You are a team player and a goal-getter , every right thinking person would like to work with. I am proud and extremely excited to associate with you .

I wish you a happy birthday and pray that your future shall be brighter and your days shall be long.
