PASTOR UMO ENO RECEIVES PAPAL BLESSINGS FROM EX PRELATE MBANG

In continuation of his statewide consultation for the 2023 governorship race, Pastor Umo Eno on Wednesday paid a visit to former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Dr. Sunday Mbang at his Chapel in Uyo.

Speaking during the visit, the Director General of the Campaigns, Amb. Assam Assam (SAN) said the visit was to seek the face of God and obtain papal prayers from the Spiritual father.

Declaring his intention to the fathers of faith, the frontline governorship aspirant, Pastor Umo Eno intimated the Prelate Emeritus of his desire to contest for the governorship position of the state in 2023.

The Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources noted that the Church is one of the critical stakeholders in project Akwa Ibom especially in the sustenance of peace in the state, admonishing that he has no scores to settle with anyone in the state.

He promised to lead a state free from vendetta and bitterness and to commit time and focus on the enduring economic prosperity of Akwa Ibom State.

Pastor Eno was accompanied on the visit by MPM leadership led by Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, members of the State Executive Council, members of the State House of Assembly, Representatives of the business community, Chairmen of Councils, and opinion leaders in the state.

The visit came with a brief worship service in which Prelate Mbang said it was impossible for him to argue with the choice of Pastor Umo Eno as he had sought audience with the Governor after the unveiling of the Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources.

Drawing reference from the Bible, Prelate Mbang said God has been involved in the appointment, selection or election of leaders both in the Old and New Testament, as he lacks the competence to doubt what God revealed to the Governor, appealing to the people to remain calm and prayerful until God fulfills His will in Akwa Ibom State.

The man of God encouraged other aspirants who may wish to consult him to do so as they are all his children, though Umo Eno has a special place in his heart.

He warned politicians and Akwa Ibom people to be mindful of their actions as everyone will reap what they sow in the build up to the 2023 elections.

Prayers were offered for the peace and prosperity of the state and the success of Pastor Eno's governorship ambition by different priests.

Other clergymen present at the service include Bishop Idem Ikon, Bishop Koko Bassey, Bishop Enobong Essien, Prelate of African Church; Bishop Udofia, and Bishop Udo Ekpenyong, among others.
