A motorcycle rider was killed by gunmen suspected of being bandits in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The gunmen kidnapped the okada rider and demanded N30,000 in ransom.

On the condition of anonymity, a source in Kaduna informed DKV.ng that the deceased friends had helped him donate the money, believing he would be released, but they subsequently discovered his death in a bush adjacent to the community.

"On January 13, 2022, he was kidnapped in Kwoi. His companions were forced to pay to the ransom in order to guarantee his freedom, but the robbers refused to release him even after they received the money. They later murdered him."

Mr. Yunusa Idris, the district head of the community, confirmed the occurrence, saying, "as soon as his friends paid the money for his release, everybody in the community was expecting him, but his corpse was discovered."

"The N30,000 ransom sought by the bandits was paid by his pals, but he was not released because they (bandits) demanded more money, which was not given," he explained.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, did not answer his phone or respond to a text message given to him.
