The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Mohammed Ali, has said that the Command under his watch has recorded ground breaking achievements in the fight against crimes and criminalities in 2022.

Addressing members of the press in Asaba, Delta State, during the first briefing for the year 2022. Ali noted that discipline and adherence to the principles of duty were the major reasons his command was able to rattle criminals and beat them in their own game.

He noted that the Command under his watch has zero tolerance for officers and men, who are complacent in the discharge of their duties, and will deal decisively with such erring officers.

"As part of measures to tame the practices of cultism and drug abuse in the State, I have directed all Area Commanders, DPOS, and Tactical Commanders to embark on continuous raiding of criminal hideouts/black spots within their area of responsibilities, while also admonishing them on the need to remain committed to their primary duties which includes protection of life and property, maintenance of law and order among others, also to lecture their men to be civil and polite when dealing with members of the public as the Command under my watch will deal decisively with any erring officer," Ali said.

The Commissioner went ahead to present achievements recorded by the Command within the period, January 1, 2022 till date as contained in a document exclusively made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), including the arrest of murder suspect involved in the killing of the former Delta State Police Command OC Legal, rescue of kidnapped victim and recovery of stolen vehicle along Warri/Ughelli Road, arrest of suspect involved in the murder of a POS operator and Nollywood actress, Mary Ngozi, at Boji Boji Owa, arrest of murder suspects involved in flogging to death a One year, seven months old baby of Arise and Shine Nursery/Primary School, arrest of suspected cultists and recovery of locally made weapons and cartridges at Akperhe-Olomu Community in Otu-Jeremi, Ughelli South LGA and Agbarho, Ughelli North LGA; and arrest of drug barons/dealers and suspected kidnappers.

CP Ali assured residents of the state of adequate security while soliciting continuous understanding, support,
